I HAVE to replace my kitchen floor. DH and I bought the house a year ago and their had been a leak from the dishwasher but the inspection report was fine and it was fixed, dry etc.... fast forward a year... I've never trusted the dishwasher.
Now, I realized that the floor all around the dishwasher is wet when it's run - I'm not talking on top, I'm talking under the flooring. I've sort of put it off and forgot about it but I'm assuing it's been this way for a while. This leaves no choice but to replace the floor and the dishwasher. I don't think this is a project DH and I can tackle ourselves. We've done the bathroom floor ourselves but this is 3x the size.
If I'm just replacing the floor and the dishwasher. On average what would you say for cost. Money is tight and this wasn't in the budget. Also, will it matter if my dishwasher is stainless steel and the rest of the appliances are white? We eventually planned on doing all stainless but not for the next 5 years or so.
Re: replacing kitchen floor - cost help - need recommendations
Sounds like you have a hole in the tank of your dishwasher. I noticed water coming up from under my floor around the dishwasher twice now and both times its been a hole in the tank so def replacement of dishwasher before doing the floor.
Secondly it definitely depends on what you're looking to replace it with. We have a dura-ceramic floor which is vinyl tiles that look like slate/ceramic and can be grouted but they're easily cleaned and aren't cold on your feet.
General rule of thumb I've been able to go with is whatever it would cost you to purchase the product times it by 2 and that should be your total cost to include labor.
