Re: Duggar Update
That is sad.
This might be a silly question, but if you miscarry in the second trimester, wouldn`t you be able to feel it...
That's horribly sad.
I'm sure she didn't feel it because the baby was still inside her--just not alive anymore.

To answer your question. First of all in general even in the first trimester you feel it.
Secondly, If she hadn't been feeling the baby move a lot yet she probably didn't think anything of it, so she could easily not have known until she went to the Dr.
I agree with Tara though that it's more a still birth than miscarriage at this point. Considering she has to be around 20 weeks along.

Wow, that is so sad, I feel horrible for them, and what an even more devastating way to find out
I was kind of wondering if her body would even be able to handle another pregnancy, I know there are so many reasons why a miscarriage can happen, but it makes me wonder, especially since it was such a late miscarriage/still birth, and with things having gone the way they have the past couple pregnancies. Regardless, it is very very sad.
Wouldn't the natural family planning/rhythm method be appropriate at this point? I feel bad that they lost their baby (obviously I wouldn't wish that upon anyone), but this was already a high risk pregnancy being her 20th, and with all the complications in the last birth, it seems dangerous to continue having sex whenever if you're not using a form of birth control. They said they didn't use birth control pills anymore b/c of what happened before, so NFP would be perfect since they wouldn't be putting any chemicals into her body. I'm guessing he won't wear a condom, since that would have been a no brainer answer a long time ago.
I completely agree. Really, she wasn't too many weeks short of where she had been last time when Josie had to be delivered because of her pre-e. Which is why I was wondering if this would be the outcome.
I know their birth control theory is that 'If God wants us to have another child, we will get pregnant'... which is fine since they can support all of their children, until it starts getting dangerous, at which point it would be wise to stand back and realize that as long as they are having sex, and she is still releasing an egg, they can (and probably will) get pregnant, and that there is a fairly high chance with her history that it will not end with a happy result.
Okay, that makes sense.
