Ive been trying new recipes with reckless abandon and have experienced a pretty fair distribution of hits and misses. However, my latest miss was a total WIFF and now I have a huge batch of perfectly good but terrible tasting food that may end up in the trash, much to the dismay of the growing food-unsecure population and my own deep seated catholic guilt.
Can anyone offer suggestions of how I can transform these leftovers into something more edible? Heres what I got:a pasta dish comprised of shell pasta (small size), chicken, brocoli/carrots/cauliflower, rotel with ridiculously spicy and gross chili peppers despite its claim of being MILD, with melted velveeta cheese as a sauce of sorts. The issue is that its flavorless and the chilis are way too potent by comparison.
Help me reduce my confession list and save some good food from the landfill.

Maybe you could mix in sour cream to cool down the heat and add some taco seasoning to the sour cream before mixing in the dish to also add some flavor?
I don't know what else you could try, you're better than I am because I have been known to chuck a whole meal if it's gross.
This was actually the only idea I had so far--rinse the cheese stuff off, pick out most of the peppers and bake with marinara sauce and shredded cheese as some kind of subpar Italian casserole.
oh yes, sour cream may work, i also have some that I need to use soon anyway. good thought ladies.
btw, I hate using the term "ladies" but I dont know what else to substitute in there. Gals is ridiculous as well, homies is from both the wrong decade and demographic, maam is offensive to anyone under 50 years old..Im at a loss. So please accept my apologies for my poor syntax and subsequent neurosis.
good thought bitches, would work too
Toss it and ignore the catholic guilt! The seagulls and geese that fly over landfills will appreciate it.
The amount of time and energy you would spend picking out other items and then attempting to modify the flavor with a new sauce just is too much time and effort. What if it turns out worse than the first batch--you'll toss it then, right?
This is exactly what DH did. He is a firm believer that hot sauce can overcome any of my kitchen follies.
