I am so paranoid that they won't show up. I never got a phone call or anything. Heck, I don't even know who the moving company is! What would be the protocol if they didn't show up?
Ok, time to chillax and get some coffee...they'll be here. Right?

Re: TMO comes today...
Have any email approvals come? Or did you ever have a walk through?
Also, is your H there for the movers? If not, do you have a power of attorney? Depending on the online system you use you need a specific household good POA (move.mil requires the specific POA). If they show up and your H isn't there, and you don't have the POA, they won't pack or move your stuff.
The TMO inspector might drop by unannounced to see if the movers are there, make sure everything's going okay, etc.
Yes, the movers will show up. It'll be fine.
If any approvals came they came to DH's email. No walk through because I do not live on base; I live with my mom at her house right now.
H is still overseas for a few more days. All of his stuff that he had with him has already been taken by TMO back in October. I do have a POA at least!
I feel so unprepared now
Don't feel unprepared. We have always had a walk through even when not on base because they come to see how many boxes they need, what kind of special boxes, and determine how many packers and how long it will probably take. They usually come about a week before the packers.
But I'm sure they'll be there and you'll be fine. Glad to hear you have the POA though.
My paranoia is getting the better of me. Is there a general number that I can contact to find out when they are coming? I'm really nervous because I never had any phone calls from anyone, no confirmation emails (but maybe DH has it?), no walk throughs... nothing.
Should I contact the closest base to me, or should I contact the base that we'll be PSCing to?
I really appreciate the advice that everyone has already given!
Did they give you a time that they would come? How did you know that they were supposed to come today? Are you sure that they said they were coming today to pack?
Anyone I know who has done the move has had someone come first to do a walk through to see how many boxes and how much stuff you have. That happens about a week before and only takes like 20 minutes. Last time our guy showed up at like 3:00 on the day they said. Then from there they gave us the dates for the packers and movers to come. On those days our packers and movers were at the house at like 8:30am.
Did they ever show? I understand why you would be paranoid about it. I had similar problems in my last move but everything turned out okay in the end although there were definitely some annoying moments along the way.
Nope, they never showed. It's 4:15 and I doubt they'll be coming today. I even made home made pasta sauce and cookies last night to feed everyone
I bet something happened when DH set up the appointment. We're going to have a skype date tonight and I'll ask him about it then. On the bright side, we don't have to leave for 2 more weeks, so there's still time to reschedule. AND, I can do more organizing.
Glad that you're able to see the bright side. And yes, two weeks may not seem like too long of time, but it should be okay as long as you're able to get into contact with the appropriate people next week.
