  • Annoying??!!?

    Surprise

  • How is it possible that I am the only one who opted for annoying?  Yes!  Charlie Brown drives me batty.  I think the only redeeming character in the whole lot is Linus.  Charlie Brown is more often than not a hopeless victim.

  • Huh, guess I didn't pick up on the fact that you were just referring to the one character. I thought you were referring to the cartoon specials as a whole.

Just out of curiosity, did you always feel this way, or is this a new opinion?

I feel like this is the beginning of a psychology case study on Charlie Brown.  Stick out tongue

  • Naw.  I wouldn't give up on him if it were a case study.  ;)  I remember watching one of the Charlie Brown specials as an adult and being more annoyed than entertained.

It's not just CB.  Lucy is a bully and a jerk.

  • I've never been a big fan of the Peanuts, either the comics or the cartoons. However, I felt like I was unAmerican. I did set the DVR to tape the Christmas special for the girls. We will see if they like it.

We watched Rudolph the other day and that felt like torture watching that. It seemed like it took way too long. It was fun watching the girls with it.

  • Linus is my favorite!!!

  • Someone else voted annoying, and isn't commenting.  I'm not alone.  Where are you co-annoyed viewer?

I voted sweet.  Even though we both love Linus, I like them overall.  They're so silly.  The Great Pumpkin is my favorite.

I also love Rudolph.  I think it's time for true confessions:  I kinda hate Christmas music (sorry, Chymes--I blame 5 years of working at Pier 1), but love Christmas movies.

  • I voted annoying.  I will admit that I kinda like the Christmas special because that reminds me of being a kid.  However, the Halloween and all of the other holiday specials they run are awful.  Just awful.  I also will say that the Vince Guaraldi music is some of my favorite at the holidays.  But yeah, Charlie Brown himself is pretty annoying.

  • Thanks for stepping up, KerCo.  I feel better being not the only CB heretic here. ;)

  • DD loves Charlie Brown, not necissarily himself, but the whole cartoon as a whole.  I find it fun to watch, on an annual basis...ie holiday episodes.
