How did you know you had food allergies? What was happening?
*TMI* But I have been having terrible stomach aches and been nauseous for the last month. I've resorted to taking Imodium AD, and it's become like a daily thing. I don't know if it's just a bug or if it's something I'm eating. I haven't ate anything new or out of the normal lately.
Is this how your food allergies started?
TIA
Re: Food Allergies
There are food allergies and food intolerances. My food allergies are pretty apparent - I get blotchy skin, break out in hives, itchy throat and ears, and mouth/throat swelling. Some foods have a worse reaction than others. Ask Oct30, she gives me crap all the time because I'm allergic to strawberries - they just make me blotchy, but I love them, so I still eat them.
In March, I suspected I was lactose intolerant. Since high school I can remember getting horrible stomach aches a couple time a week. The more that I thought about it, the stomach aches followed when I had a bunch of cereal for breakfast, cheesecake, bunch of milk, a cheesy pizza, some ice cream... So I cut dairy out and haven't had that issue, unless I cheat! :-)
My point is, do your stomach problems happen when you eat a certain type of food? Because you may be developing an intolerance. Pay attention to dairy - that's a common one!
Pretty much this story for my husband. He stopped eating foods with alot of dairy and he stopped having problems. He now just takes pills for it before he has dairy items. Then my poor SD she was really gassy and for a little girl at school, it started to become a little embarrassing. We all collective had her start taking dairy pills and her problem was solved.
Obviously the other allergy reaction, is swelling, blotching, etc.
