Happy Friday!

TGIF, y'all!  Anyone have any big plans for the weekend?

We've got our holiday party at work this afternoon, which means we get to go home early, woohoo! Tomorrow, my husband and I are getting a Zipcar to run errands and get our Christmas tree. We'll probably wait til Sunday to decorate it.  Hopefully, Jack won't decide it's something for him, heh.

Re: Happy Friday!

  • Yes, TGIF.  No big plans for the weekend other than doing stuff around the house and hopefully some more Christmas shopping/gift wrapping.  Oh, and cookie baking.
  • Happy Friday everyone!

I have no plans for the weekend other than getting our tree. Maybe do some shopping and wrapping... but all I really want to do is sit on the couch in front of a fire ALL weekend.

  • Happy Friday!

I'm on a 5:30pm train to NYC for the weekend.  I'm looking forward to catching up with old friends (I lived in Brooklyn until 2009), shopping, and seeing all the decorations.  I love NYC at Christmas :)

  • Have a great time, SCM!  Are you going solo or is DH joining you?  DH and I really need to get down to NY more often.

I don't think I have anything planned for this weekend!  I should do some Christmas shopping and finish up my decorating though.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Rock has nothing planned?!  That's a first! Wink

DH is coming to NYC.  He's excited that I loosened up the purse strings enough to spring for Amtrak this go around instead of forcing us to take the Fung Wah, lol.

  • Have fun in NY, SCM!

We are seeing a bunch of houses tomorrow, and since we'll be in 4 different towns, it'll be pretty much an all day event. Sunday we'll watch football.

I knew someone was going to comment on this :)  I still don't think I'm as busy as you guys think I am (was that sentence confusing enough?).

You don't really take the Fung Wah, do you?  I thought the Bolt Bus was quite nice, actually, and I assume Megabus is similar.  I have a hard time springing for Amtrak tickets when it often takes just as long as driving!

I have taken the Fung Wah a zillion times, mostly in the pre-Mega Bus/Bolt Bus era.  I am a miser Wink  I booked our Amtrak tickets a month ago though so they were only $40 each way, which is not too bad.  I really enjoy the train and I hate hate hate driving.  DH and I are terrible roadtrip companions for some reason and long roadtrips always end with one of us sulking, lol.

That's too funny. My husband doesn't drive, and he gets really cranky and sleepy when we have to drive long distances (by which I mean "anything over 30 minutes").  So it's super fun for me, heh.

We took the train the last time we went to NYC, and I will never go any other way. We sat in the quiet car, and it was like a revelation. No one yammering on their cell phones, no screaming kids, I could read in peace. I loved it.

  • Dh and I have his work party tonight.

Tomorrow we are Christmas tree shopping/decorating. I'd like to hit up the big holiday farmer's market, but am unsure of whether we will get out there.

I need to finish xmas shopping.

Sunday we have another (I think the last) 1st birthday party.

Ha!  Sounds it!  Can he not drive for a specific reason, or does he just choose not to?
