It's Almost Anniversary Time Again!

I can't believe it's been another whole year already!  It feels like just yesterday that I was in the limo freaking out because the driver decided to take the long way to the church.  The traditional gift for year 2 is cotton & the modern gift for year 2 is china.  So ladies, are there any plans forming just yet as far as how to celebrate?

Hubby & I are going to a cooking class at flavour cooking school in Forest Park (Chicago suburb).  The theme is Mexican Fiesta (ole), which is good because DH can't get enough of Mexican food.  If it's in a tortilla, he'll devour it for sure.  I'm a little stumped as to what to give him as a gift, although we did just get new everyday dishes (thanks to a cooking.com gift card that I won in an online contest), so I guess that can count as our gift to each other. I'll be glad to just get to spend some time together...I wish we could do it more often.

Re: It's Almost Anniversary Time Again!

  • Unfortunately I'll be in India on our anniversary so I plan on leaving him a card with instructions to open it on our anniversary that has some dirty photos inside lol. We don't really buy each other gifts. We'll probably take a weekend trip somewhere once I'm back, I'm hoping New Orleans.
  • I have no clue. Luckily, I still have over a month to figure it out. I'd like to do an overnight or weekend away somewhere. As for cotton...I need to think on that.
  • Our anniversary is a Monday, but we are having a long weekend in Melbourne the Fri-Sun before.  We're going to see Spicks & Specks Live (a music-theme game show) and finish our after-Christmas shopping (my parents' birthdays are the day after Christmas and New Year's Eve), and maybe see some sights we haven't seen before.

  • It is tough because it falls on a Monday this year.  We probably won't do much of anything, definitely no gifts.  But it's okay, we know we love each other still. :)

  • I don't think we'll get each other anything, because we're waiting to hear back on our counter-offer on a house. If it goes through, we close Feb. 10th!

Our anniversary is on a Monday, which I surprisingly have off as a tail end to Christmas vacation, but Monday's are DH's "days from hell" so he's at work from 8am-8:30pm..booo.

  • Our anniversary is on a Tuesday, so we're probably not doing anything too crazy.  H is coming back from a work conference the Thursday before our anniversary, so he'll be worn out b/c conference is always nuts.  I will have started the new job on the 3rd of January, so I can't swing the day off so soon (even though its the same school I've worked for for almost 4 years).  We might go to the hotel we had our reception at the weekend before or after our anniversary, but we'll see.  Probably no gifts though, or at least nothing big.  It's our 5 year anniversary on top of the 2 year wedding, so it is kind of a big one :)
