As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Any Professors out there?
My DH is a professor, and this is the time of year that universities make the calls for interviews. The school he really wanted called his colleague today, and not my DH. We're pretty upset since that school is very close to his hometown - and the colleague applied AFTER DH told him about it.
The two guys aren't that different. My DH is more research, and the colleague is more teaching. I'm frustrated, and I'm hoping there's still a chance he'll get a good call.
Anybody else waiting for the call?

Ugh---I remember that time period. It was awful. Actually (true story) I had just come from a meeting with friends who had all gotten interviews and I hadn't. I was in bed crying (dramatic, much?) when I got a call for an interview. I couldn't pick up because I was still sniffling, so I had to wait and call them back. I got the job and love it!
It's hard to tell what schools are looking for and so much is about "fit." Being a little more one thing or another IS a big deal to schools, and many are looking to fill a job with someone who has a particular sub-specialization. Tell your DH to hang in there---the right fit will come along
