WW Girls

I need to get serious on weight lose. I have atleast 40 pounds to lose and I am disgusted with my body right now.

I am going to sign up for weight watchers after Christmas. I was wondering what types of things you eat for breakfast, snacks, and lunch. I am going to hopefully get a lot of dinners off of Skinny Taste.

Any advise would be great. I know a lot of you have had sucess with the program.

Re: WW Girls

  • I'm debating giving WW another go as well. Are you going to go to meetings too?

  • Right now my favorite breakfast is a bagel thin with microwaved scrambled egg white, a slice of precooked bacon and a slice of low fat monterey jack cheese. It keeps me full forever. Other easy and fairly low point breakfasts are 0% Chobani yogurt, Vitatops, and oatmeal.

I almost always eat leftovers for lunch. I try to grill two or three chicken breasts on the foreman on Sundays too to have in case I don't have leftovers. I'll have a salad with one of the chicken breasts diced with some vegetables, a tbsp of ranch and a lot of Frank's buffalo sauce. But I'm not much help here because like I said 90% of the time it's leftovers. I try to make big dinners that make 6-8 servings  on Sundays or Mondays so we can use that for lunches during the week.

I try to snack on fruit mostly. And I try to eat every two or three hours. So I'll have a yogurt at 9, fruit at 11, lunch at 2, more fruit at 4 and that usually holds me until dinner at 7 or 8. More good snacks are celery with dips (I love buffalo anything and use that a lot), string cheese, WW soups, and nuts (I don't eat these too much because they're so high in points).

  • Yes. I need to be held accountable. I signed up after I had Olivia and didn't log my food once. I wasted $65.

  • Breakfast:  Eggo Nutrigrain waffles with peanut butter, Chobani yogurt, fruit (not all at once. Sometimes I'll have a plain waffle with Chobani or 2 waffles with peanut butter.)

Lunch: Whole Wheat sandwich thin with light Laughing Cow Cheese & turkey, tomato and cucumber slices with 1 tbsp EVOO & red wine vinegar, fruit

Dinner: Usually something from Skinnytaste or the Weight Watchers website

Snacks: 0 point fruit and veggies, 1 point string cheese, Triscuits and light Laughing Cow cheese

I try to work in 0 point fruits or veggies with every meal.

I'm going to meetings at work right now (we have 12 weeks of meetings for $50). I'm also using WW online. The first few weeks I wrote down everything and that really helped keep me on track. Now I'm tracking with the iPhone app.

I've found that if I plan everything I want to eat for the day and log it all first thing in the morning it helps me stay on track throughout the day. It doesn't work every single day but I'd say 5-6 days per week I'm sticking to my planned eating.

  • I Almost always eat a Chobani greek yogurt with a piece of fruit every morning. I'll eat chocolate frosted mini wheats for Bfast too. I usually average around 5 points for Bfast.

Lunch is random snacks I usually piece together. Crackers, cheese and a little bit of chicken salad. Or a big veggie salad with a dollop of chicken salad mixed in. I hardly ever eat the same thing for lunch every day.

Im a grazer so a lot of times my meals consist of snacks I've made into a meal.

Ditto this for me too. I log my planned eating online first thing when I get to work and change as needed, but try to stick to the plan.

Also I've found it's worth it for me to buy pre-cut fruit and vegetables just out of laziness. It's more expensive, but I end up eating them like I should instead of snacking on processed stuff over fruits or vegetables because it's easier.

  • I really want to give you a thought out answer to this but I am so hungover I can barely form coherent sentences right now. I will send you a PM or page with a bunch of my personal recommendations.

I really do think it's a great program though. I've successfully lost 30 pounds this year and I lost 50 when I was younger.
