Michelle Duggar had a miscarriage

I know many of you don't agree with her continuing to have children, but either way my heart breaks for her. Honestly I am surprised that with all the pregnancies this is only her second miscarriage, but I know that doesn't make it any easier to deal with at all. Ugh.

Re: Michelle Duggar had a miscarriage

  • That is sad.  And even harder that the whole world gets to know about it.

I haven't said anything on here, but my mom actually just had a miscarriage the weekend after Thanksgiving.  Just because she's already a grandmother doesn't negate the fact that a loss is a loss and grieving needs to be done.  I may not have been happy finding out she had been pregnant, but it wasn't about me and I had to be there for her.  Some people in my family failed to realize that!

  • it is very sad. especially given how far along she was.
Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
  • Sad! I wouldn't wish this on anyone, regardless of their choices.

How far along was she? This is going to be especially difficult for their family, esp with the public and media saying TOLD YOU SO type comments.

They found out at the ultrasound to find out the gender so I'm guessing 18-20 weeks.

Dani - so sorry for your family's loss!

  • So sad.

    Danielle... Sorry to hear that!

  • That is really  sad.

Danielle I am sorry about your family's loss.

  • Regardless if people think she should stop or not this is truly heartbreaking.  She was the same as me so 20 weeks (5 months).

I would almost classify that as a stillborn not miscarriage.  I couldn't imagine losing a baby in general but could not imagine losing a baby this far along...this is my biggest fear the further I get.

A lady we know through the community here at work was literally 37 weeks when her baby passed because the umbelical cord got wrapped around his neck and she went in a couple days later for her appointment...he could have easily been saved had they known.

D I'm so sorry to hear about your mom...how far along was she?

  • Someone on the radio this morning said "Well, you have 19 other kids, sooo..."

It really pissed me off! Who cares how many other kids she has?? It's still a loss and it's still heartbreaking.

I'm dreading the "episode" that will come later that will revolve around this. I'll have to have the tissues ready.

  • According the hospital they figure my mom was about 6 weeks along.  She had no idea since she's almost done with menopause and had the hysterectomy scheduled for the 13th.  She'll still get the hysterectomy, but will have to wait till January, once all her levels are back down to zero.

Thanks for the thoughts, I wasn't sure if I wanted to share or not.

Gosh, that must make the hysterectomy extra stressful for her. Sending good thoughts her way!!

That is so infuriating. Losing a baby is a big deal any time but even more so when you are halfway there!
