Have you guys experienced this at all this year? I have never had it happen before but has now happened TWICE in the past month. I ordered a new cordless phone from Amazon like 3 weeks ago. Never came. Tracked it, and FedEx had it listed as Delivered. FedEx was kind of like "oh yea we'll investigate...". I called Amazon and they sent me a new phone overnight no questions asked. I never heard from FedEx again.
Now, Jane's major Christmas gift (a toy kitchen) ordered from BuyBuyBaby is listed as "Delivered to Front Door" by UPS. I called UPS and they're all "are you sure you didn't miss it? Have you searched the property". I was like lady it's a 30 pound box containing a childs play kitchen, it's not a CD or book I accidentally stepped over.....". They didn't offer to do anything at all and just told me to take it up with BuyBuyBaby with whom I've been on hold for 20 mins.
I mean - are the drivers taking this stuff? Are people taking it off my steps?
'tis the Season, right? Fa la la la la and all that?
Re: Missing Packages....
Actually, yes.
DH orders vitamins from a certain catalog. Never had a problem with them, but they were tracked and marked as delivered. DH called the company and they said "Well, its says delivered." He said, "I'm aware of that, that's why I'm calling." They weren't going to do anything until he threatened to take it up with the credit card company. They said they'd send a new shipment.
UPS came by a couple days later asking about it. I reiterated we never got it. Driver was like, That's weird, I set it right here. Ok buddy, but we didn't get it. Seriously, do you think we're running some scam to steal $15 worth of vitamins?
We still haven't gotten them.
It's happened to me before Naylon! Back when I was ordering constantly for the wedding, a few packages were listed as delivered but did not show up. I could never get to the bottom of it, but all the retailers sent me new items free of charge. My hunch was not that the drivers were stealing items, but that they were getting delivered the wrong place and the person (people?) kept it. People steal recycle bins in my neighborhood, so I guess I don't have too much faith lol.
I hope BuyBuyBaby works it out for you! No fun.
Cut the Crap - Weight loss journey of a Few Fat Chicks
Well. To make it even more strange and scary, both items were delivered on days I am not home (Wed and Fri). Now I feel like someone is casing my house or something.
I doubt neighbors only because I was sent a very expensive piece of electronics last year (very clear packaging what it was) and my neighbor brought it right over. They'd much rather have that than a play kitchen.
Thing is, I also live on a somewhat busy, but also very heavily foot-trafficked road. It's the Mommy/Nanny brigade out there. Also at ever one of my neighbors houses (both sides, across the street) one person works from home full-time or is a SAH parent so...I feel like there are lots of eyes and ears around.
ETA: Anyway, buybuybaby is expediting a replacement.
Yeah, it's been happening around here too. DH has been working for a company that ships us stuff and then makes him ship back the thousands of dollars of equipment every few weeks (recurring job, they need the stuff for someone else). We have called the delivery companies to ask that if we're not home, they take the cases around back (this company makes it very obvious that this could be valuable- logos all flipping over huge pelican cases). I'm terrified of it getting stolen and him being responsible for it. I have stayed home to make sure I get it before, which sucks.
I'm glad they're sending you a replacement!

I have lived in my house for almost 8 years and never had this happen . . . until about a month ago.
I thought it was a fluke thing until I was talking to a neighbor about it, and apparently lots of stuff is getting stolen off of people's porches around here. Sephora re-shipped no questions asked.
The bad thing is that I placed a really large order from Amazon, and forgot to change the shipping address to my work address - so it's coming here. I'm going to have my retired neighbor keep an eye out, but I'm going to freak if that gets taken too.
