$8/hr for a high school junior to watch C, 1.5 hrs of playtime, 1 bottle & bed? We are picking up and taking home
Re: is this reasonable?
Married the love of my life 6/3/06
Became a family of three 8/25/09
I make a bit more than that, but honestly, I made $10/hr babysitting 10 years ago. So, I don't think its that crazy.
ok, here's my take. I know i'm cheap so i hate paying for a babysitter period. I just hired a 15 year old for $8/hr and i kindof cringed. I will be picking her up and dropping her off. It will be from about 5 til 10ish and the kids will go to bed around 8 since it's a school night. Minimum wage is $7.25 so she is making more than that, cash in hand not having to pay taxes on it, and she is able to hang out, watch tv, eat whatever, etc.
I was paid anywhere from 8-10 bucks an hour in college, not high school. And I never set the price, the parents did. Honestly, in high school, I made $5 an hour and I thought that was a lot. Now the norm is $10? At this rate, by the time my daughter is 15 the rate will be $15/hr!!! This just seems like it's getting out of hand.
Both of my sister's pay $10/hr so I won't even ask girls that they use since I feel like they would be disappointed they aren't getting paid as much.
Flame away, yes, i'm cheap.
