Did I screw up?
This morning my direct supervisor (B) asked me if her supervisor (A) had spoken with me yet. He hadn't so I asked her what it was about and she said that he would speak with me. Of course, it freaks me out! We have had quite a few budget cuts lately, people have been shifted around like crazy with some even taking large pay cuts or losing their jobs. He still hadn't spoken with me before I left so I went in there and told him, "B said you wanted to speak with me so I just wanted to make sure you didn't need anything before I left." First he hesitated but then he told me that they were actually trying to get me a promotion and a raise. He didn't want to say anything because it's a long process and he didn't know how it would turn out. Should I have said anything? I know that B should have never said anything but was I wrong? How do I handle the situation with both A and B now? I just couldn't get through the weekend thinking that I was next on the chopping block.
