:: Emily / Becky ::

I think you two are the ones that are familiar with Peddler's Village. We're staying at the Golden Plough Inn...where in Peddler's Village is that compared to the place that has all the kid's stuff in it? (Can't remember the name, but it's like a discovery/play place for kids).

Brody is staying at the Inn with two babysitters (17 and 20 years old) and I thought if the kid's place was close, they could take him there and it would be fun for everyone. Also, I'm assuming there are places to eat within walking distance? I need to leave money for their dinner (and B's) or tell them to order pizza lol (which I would pay for too).

ETA: The babysitters are for the day of the wedding. They're arriving around 3:00PM and will stay until we get back, so around 11:00PM.

  • Gigglesomething in the kids place. There's a big carosel, but I've never looked around it otherwise. I am 95% sure its on the opposite end from the inn - maybe a mile? Actually I doubt its that far; Peddler's Village is not giant. Becky might be better acquainted though :) You might want to have them get pizza - all the eateries I recall are (family friendly but maybe not toddler  & babysitter friendly) pubs. Will you have time to wander around before hand?

    Yeah, it's like Giggleberry Fair or something like that. The website said they have an area specific to 1-5 year olds, and the pictures look like it would be fun for him. Anything beat sitting around a inn/hotel room for several hours! :)

    Yeah, we'll have plently of time to scope out the place beforehand. We'll arrive late Wednesday evening and the wedding isn't until Saturday. I have decided that if it's too far for the babysitters to take him, that we'll take him Friday during the day (before the rehearsal and all that fun stuff).

  • Sorry so late, I can't check TN at work...

    Honestly, I don't know too much about Giggleberry Fair, as I'm pretty sure it was built when I was in college so I never went as a kid.  I've only been in it once, when P was a couple months old and I met a friend with her two kids (one was under one, the other was probably 2 or 2.5).  My impression was that it was like a bigger version of Chuck E. Cheese, but I don't think I saw the toddler area since we were only there to eat. There is definitely kid-friendly food inside Giggleberry.

    Everything in Peddler's Village is walkable.  I doubt it is a mile, but it is on the other side and across a somewhat busy street.  Definitely doable if you have a stroller; if not, it could be a hike depending on how well Brody walks longer distances.  My friend was pushing her youngest in a stroller and her oldest was walking alongside for most of the day.  We walked the whole village at least twice.

    Emily is right, most of the places are pub-like, sometimes they have carts throughout the area that sell food.  Pizza's probably a good idea.

    You'll definitely get a better feel for it once you get there.  It won't take long for you to get your bearings, it really isn't that big.
