Got a gift idea?
We do a gift exchange with family and friends and I drew a couple our age with a 1 year old. In the past I got a cool vase from Crate and Barrel. One year I got them a groupon to a brewery tour or something along those lines.
We've got a $30ish (up to 40) limit. I was trying to avoid a gift card bc it just seems a little lame. I'd volunteer to baby sit and do a restaurant gc or something so they could have a date night, but I'm still needed for bedtime here and they live across town.
They like to entertain but kind of have everything in the fondue pot/wine glass area. I think the party days are a bit tamer now that they have a kid. He homebrews and does a lot of fixer projects,
Any brilliant ideas? I'm just drawing a blank on gifts this year. I think I'm brain dead.

Maybe tickets for their family to Zoo Lights? It's experiential, but I'm betting they'll see it with new eyes as parents, plus their little guy will probably enjoy seeing bright lights.
Otherwise, maybe tickets to the Children's Museum? More geared toward their child, but it's fun for parents to watch the little people explore and experience too, plus photo opps!

I wonder what a Children's Museum membership runs. Probably more than $40! They're near Belmar. Anything over there that I could get them a membership to?
Oh, interesting! I wonder if they have one already. I bet I could find out. I know they used something to make baby food with but am not sure what.
The one I have also has a whisk attachment so you can whip cream, etc. easily. I think they're pretty nifty.
Yeah, we love ours. My other favorite gadget is this grater, which their parents got me (but may have gotten for them too):

I'm currently looking at the Omaha Steaks website for my aunt and they have some complete dinners for under $40. Good food, minimal prep, and they can stay in.
