What to use on laminate wood floors?
We have laminate wood floors throughout the majority of our house. I have been cleaning by sweeping (with a sweeper vac) first and then using my Swiffer wet jet.
I'm over using my Swiffer wet jet. It just feels wasteful with all of the little pads. Does anyone have a better way of cleaning their laminate floors?
Re: What to use on laminate wood floors?
Definitely this:
The pads are sturdy enough for our household (we have 2 cats, 2 dogs, all shedders), and there is a green "quickie" that is like a swiffer, except that the pads are held on with elastic (our 4 pads are going on two years now, and no wear and tear showing yet!) The mop and quickie are about 15 dollars a piece, and pads were 4-6 dollars a piece, but they've lasted us two years so far. I use a stiff-bristled hand sized broom to sweep the dog hair out before moving onto the next room, and then wash all the pads once a week. That's the only thing about microfiber pads, how you have to wash them in their own load of laundry, otherwise the lint from cotton fills up their "hooks" and they stop working as well. Good luck!
I have a Libman spray mop that is similar to the swiffer wet jet, but it has re-usable microfiber pads and you use your own solution. I use hot water mixed with vinegar and a little bit of rubbing alcohol.

You should never use a steam mop on laminate.
