Surgery is 5 sleeps!

I had my appointment with the surgeon on Nov 10 and she said that the surgery would most likely happen sometime in January. So on Wed, at 8:01am I received a call from the hospital that my surgery date is booked for Dec 14 and my pre-op is today.  I was in panic mode for 2 days trying to get everything organized for the supply teacher to take over my classes! I was set up to have it happen in Jan, so this was interesting to wrap my head around!

I am having my gall bladder removed (yae!) so hopefully now I will be free of pain! And I get to start my holidays a week and a half early! lol

  • Oh goodness, that would freak me out a little bit. I hope you can get everything taken care of and be worry-free (at least in that department) by Wednesday. Also wishing you a fast recovery.

  • Good luck.  I am glad that you don't have to wait until January if you are in pain.  I hope it goes well and that you have good people to take care of you.  Keep up posted!

  • DON'T PANIC!  :-)

My mom had this surgery a few years ago, and it's truly amazing how little the incision is, and how quick the process goes.

Recovery can be longish for some, but not too painful (my mom has zero pain tolerance) and you feel so much better afterwards.  Plus you're young, so you will heal faster.

Let us know how you're doing and good luck!  We'll think of you!

  • Thanks Nesties! I had my Pre-Op appt yesterday and it went well...STORM: one of the tests was a pregnancy test, but it might be too early to tell since I just finished O-time a few days ago (I think on Tuesday actually), so who knows? That would be my luck! I would actually get pregnant and not be able to have the surgery! lol

I am hoping that with this taken care of the pregnancy thing will be able to happen early 2012 - my body will be healthier and happier!

So now I have 2 days left of work and then I am off!! :)
