Gault can I ask a you a few ?'s

You look amazing.  I started to ask you in your aw thread, but I didn't want to distract people from it.

If it's not too personal, If it is just tell me to shut up and mind my own beeswax. no hard feelings.

can I ask how you're losing the weight? I.e. wewa, jenny craig, just general healthy eating and exercise.  I need to lose weight, but beyond laying off the little caesar's, I'm not completely sure what I'll do next.

Re: Gault can I ask a you a few ?'s

  • Aww.  I really appreciate it, thank you.  It's exhilarating, but also really humbling to be going through this, 'cause...holy crap I have a lot left to lose.  Right now I'm a size 20ish.  Yes, 20, even after losing 50 pounds.  I'm nowhere near done yet.

I'm doing a food program called Medifast.  5 pre-portioned "meals" that are focused on all the nutrients and vitamins you need for a day (and actually taste decent), you eat them every 2-3 hours, a snack thrown in there if you want, and then one "real" meal consisting of lots of veggies and protein, and extra fat if the protein is lean.  Sounds intense, but it's really simple to follow and after the initial sugar/carb/salt detox, it's been a breeze.   For me, the issues have always been with emotional eating and trigger foods related to that.  During my abusive relationship and marriage I gained almost 100 pounds.  Ugh. So I've been utilizing counseling, OA meetings, journaling, all that stuff as well.

Exercise has always been difficult for me, so I'm just doing the gym a few times a week (sorta :-/) and trying to walk more.  Eventually I know I need to do more strength training.

If you want any other info about the food stuff, just let me know. I'd be happy to pass on any extra information. :-) I really try not to talk about it too much, because how boring for everyone around me. lol.

  • Gault, it's like we had the same story, only I gained 85 pounds in like 3 years. Also took it off with Medifast.

Feels good to dump 85 pounds, then another 200 in divorce :)

  • Just here for a woot woot! It feels great to feel good!
