can i get the material at JoAnn Fabrics or Michaels?
It calls for 1/2 yard of 72" Felt or Felted Wool.

You can get felt at Joanns. They have 100% wool felt, acrylic blends, and 100% acrylic felt. IMO I like working with 100% wool better.
I have that scarf on my Pin boards to make someday!
