Cat update

I had mentioned earlier in the week the struggles we were having with my boy cat and peeing/marking issues in the house.  He had marked on our stand up shower in the basement (a new place) on Wednesday so that made our decision to get step things up a notch.

We crated him starting on Wednesday night in an attempt to get a urine sample.  He did end up giving us one on Friday morning but he pooped in it so it was contaminated.  We left him in the crate and got a good sample yesterday morning.  I rushed it over to the vet and he called a few hours later.  Turns out the poor little guy has a lot of blood in his urine.  This could indicate an infection so he's started on antibiotics (in addition to his current antidepressants, lol)  for 2 weeks and we let him out of the crate last night and started giving him some extra love.

So, fingers crossed that this solves his problem.  I was very doubtful that an infection was his issue since his marking was sporadic (could go 4-10 days between occurences) and usually in the same spot. I'll take any healthy cat thoughts you could send our way.
