Up to Day 6 of my Advent Scarf

Slowly catching up! That one day looks goofy only for now. It will block more normally, or so they say ;)

  • What is the point?  Do you do one stitch a day?

I think it looks great!  I'm anxious to see the finished scarf.

Yes. Much like an Advent calendar, we get a pattern a day from 12/1-12/24. We're typically expected to knit 16-20 rows each day, with a 2-row transition between each pattern. At the end of it all we get a lovely scarf! Last year was all lace, this year is a mix of lace and texture. Loads of fun and we learn all kinds of cool techniques.

I'm halfway through Day 7, and will post pix when Day 8 is done.

  • Is this through your LYS or knitting group? I remember your scarf from last year and it looks like so much fun.

It's my old LYS in PA. I'm still allowed to join the Advent scarf ;) We even have a knitter in Ireland who joins us each year.

  • Note to Self:  Mommy taught you everything else; you should have paid attention to the knitting! Sad

How fun! I am a little jealous, but I know this would be the absolute worst time of the year for me to take on a project like that even if my LYS did offer something like it.
