vent: frustrated

we got married 9/17 and we STILL don't have our wedding pics.  Our photographer is fantastic, every sneak peak I have seen I have loved.  When the wedding was over I asked timeframes and she said 8-12 weeks for pics, which is a lot compared to all the other September Knotties I know... but whatevs. the 12 week mark is tomorrow and I just got a mass email sent to all of her clients saying thanks for our patience, we'll have a $100 credit on our account for prints and then listed the order that we could expect our online galleries to go live:

 1. Not our wedding (end of the week)

2. Our wedding (before Christmas)

She also reminded us that if we want to order prints in time for xmas we have to order by December 12th... um..... how the hell are we supposed to order prints if we don't have our flipping photos! I don't want to order prints of the 3 pictures I've seen! I want to see them all first.

and of course the 8-12 weeks was not mentioned in her contract so I have no recourse, and I'm not trying to be snotty I just was really hoping to make our parents photobooks for Christmas and unfortunately that idea is out the window

Re: vent: frustrated

  • I'm sorry.

I would simply write her back and let her know you appreciate the email, but that you are disappointed because this was your Christmas gift idea. She may or may not do anything, but at least she knows and if the lack of customer service continues you have a basis for leaving her bad reviews, etc..

She didn't have any time frame in her contract as far as proofs?

  • That really sucks.  kari's advice is good, and you can also write a bad (and true) review of your photog on TK.

  • nope no time frame in her contract - that's my fault, i should've noticed and insisted.  I emailed her and let her know that I was planning on christmas gifts and am disappointed and she said my online gallery would be available by December 15th and she'd email the cd the next day... she also said as long as we order prints by December 18th she'd guarantee them for christmas. So the photobooks might not make it in time, but at least something will.

  • If you get the CD quickly, maybe you could print off a picture and frame it for your parents (or whoever was getting the books) and a nice note that a photo book is to follow.
