back in August or early September there was a big post on carseats. I can't seem to find it, did anyone happen to save it?
Basically, what infant seat did y'all use? We're starting with the infant seat and then moving up so we can transport Baby without (hopefully) waking them up when we get places we are going. Thanks!!
Re: Car sear question
same with us. I didn't want one of the ones that went to a high weight limit because by the time she grew out of the snugride I was almost always taking her out of the seat to take her out of the car. I was also a baby wearer, so there were probably fewer than 5 times that I took her in the carrier somewhere other than in to our house or to someone else's house. Hold off a bit on buying your convertible because you want to be able to take advantage of the full life of the seat.
Ditto on the Chicco. I have a freakishly large child and he was in it less than a year, but well worth the money.
Another Chicco user
And we have the adapters so we can put it on the strollers - baby jogger city mini and Bob revolution....
Chicco has worked well so far, even with him being born a month early and only being 5 lbs ....
Chicco users, did you all use the Keyfit 30? Graco moms, which snugride did you pick? Originally we thought the 35 (35 lbs, 32 in), but someone pointed out that it's highly unlikely I will be carrying a baby that large around in an infant seat, so now we're considering the 22.
I don't anticipate carrying the thing furthur than in to someone's house, or to the doctors office. We both like the idea of wearing the baby (I heard the Infantino is really good) and if we go with the Graco we'll get the snugride stroller frame that you just snap the seat on and go. Does the chicco have something like this?
Thank you all for your responses, especially since it's a repeat!!
We had the Keyfit 30 both times (sold the 1st one, bought another one for the 2nd baby). The other Chicco (22?) didn't come in the colors that I wanted. But really I wouldn't pay attention much to the upper weight limit on an infant carrier. Both of my boys are big kids (90%ile) and they were both out of the infant carrier by the time they were 6ish months old. As soon as they could sit up on their own in a high chair or shopping cart we stopped using the infant carrier. It was just easier for me to carry the baby alone and use a stroller/shopping cart etc than to lug the infant carrier all the time. B is almost 7 months and about 19 lbs and has been out of the infant carrier for almost two months now.
we got the 22lb snugride.
we have the baby trend snap-n-go stroller frame. it will fit most any infant seat and is pretty small. i had a hard time wearing dd because i'm too short for the infantino we had and our baby bjorn requires a phd to put on. it was easier to just use the sng rather than taking her out when i was by myself.
this.
C has always been above 95% in weight. I could not imagine lugging her around till she hit 30lbs.
I think we moved her to her big girl seat when she was 7-8 months.
I have the Snugride 30. Honestly, I chose it because (well, first, safety) because the fabric was cute.
As far as carrying, I prefer the Ergo over our Bjorn, but we never tried an Infantino.
