Mountains

I am moving to Boston in late December and my husband will be joining me until the middle of January. We would like to go to the mountains within 2 hours of Boston. Where would you suggest? We'd like a cute little town to walk around in and some nice views. We love the Blue Ridge Mountains here in NC. Thanks ahead of time!

Re: Mountains

  • It's a little further than you wanted (probably closer to 2.5-3 hours), but I always recommend north Conway, nh. It is a very cute town with lots of shops and restaurants, plus beautiful views of the white mountains all around. It's pretty much my favorite vacation spot.

    ...hello out there!

  • Most towns in the Berkshires have mountain views, and many are very touristy. I have only stayed in Lenox and it was for a wedding so we didn't hang around downtown, but if you google the Berkshires you can probably find a town with exactly what you're looking for.
  • I would also recommend the North Conway area.  It is totally worth the drive!
  • I also like the North Conway area, and you have the outlet shops there too!

Keep in mind, if you are talking about going up once your DH gets here, it will be cold and snowy....just makes it a little harder to walk around cute towns.

    Welcome to the area!!

  • I think we will go to North Conway. Thanks everyone!
