Graduation gift ideas for brother?

My brother is graduating with his MBA this week.  We're all going out to a nice dinner to celebrate this weekend, and I feel like we need to get him something.  He is married, no kids yet, has a house of his own, etc, FWIW.  I'm really only hoping to spend $20-30 since dinner for him is going to be very upscale and expensive.  (we're all paying our own way - he picked the restaurant).  Any ideas?

  • What hobbies does he have? You can always get him a gift card or something. I feel like that is always appropriate for graduation.

  • A business card case?

  • Does he have a case / sleeve for his laptop? (which is probably in the $40-$50 range - a sleeve is smaller and less expensive).

Where will he be working?  Does he need clothes for his new job / position?  A nice shirt?

Desk accessories - - Bombay company (now out of business, but I'm sure there are similar products) had a something you put on your desk with spaces for photos.  (it was like a desk pad, but with glass on top).

Ditto a nice frame for a photo of him for his desk (with his b'school buddies, wife, family, etc.).

Nice bottle of wine?  (or scotch or whatever he drinks as a treat).

Also, redenvelope.com has men's gifts (usually pricey, but you can find some bargains) and often has a 20% off coupon.

  • Leather folio for meetings, a diploma frame, a business card holder, or a nice "power pen" are the first things that came to mind.
