London Ladies - Sub Positions (Teaching)?

I saw Natalie mention subbing in London on another board, and I'm interested in learning more.  I'd like to earn some pounds, please ;)

My experience:

- 1 year with the Dallas ISD (third grade, self-contained)

- Several years in ESL positions in Spain (part time, while I was studying)

- Other than that, corporate training, public speaking, and financial services

- And I'm fluent in Spanish, if that helps...

I'm the dependent partner on a Tier II visa, so I have the right to work.

Any tips for me?

  • Expat - I will be sending you a pm in one moment.
I like pineapples...they make life just so much more interesting.
  • Haha, that was an epic post!

Anyway in an English school to work as a teacher you need an overseas cert or you can work as a cover supervisor which pays ?80ish per day.  This is basically a sub.

I would sign up with a few teaching agencies.

I like A Star, Tradewind/ Stanza, and Connaught give them my name.  :-)

Otherwise you can also apply directly to private schools as you just need a degree not a teaching cert.  I have seen some ads for subs in the newspaper.  I would just call private schools and see if they need people for next term.  Some schools are out for Christmas break already.
