Case of the Mondays

I definitely have it. How was your weekend?

Re: Case of the Mondays

  • The weekend was good!

Friday we went out with a friend of mine in town from Hawaii and her new lover.

Saturday we got shiit done, but not too much.

Yesterday we watched football and we were surrounded by Pats fans and not Jets fans, so that was a pleasant surprise.

This week I need to get on that Christmas shopping thing and put it all behind me.

How was your weekend, DL? What do you have going on this week?

I agree with everything that muddled said. You should listen to her. -ESDReturns
  • I have the same thing.  Must be going around.

My weekend was OK.  Got the majority of my Christmas shopping done - I'm finishing up after work today.  I was sick all day on Sunday, but managed to get some cleaning and organizing accomplished.

I need a vacation in the worst way.

    This is my siggy.
  • Mine was good! We just hung out on Friday night, Saturday we went out to lunch and to see the Descendants, which was pretty good. We headed to a little get together at one of our friend's house, which was interesting. We only knew the hostess and her FI (or friend? I think they're engagement is off, but she has not told us directly so it's a bit awkward. They are still living together and it says they are engaged on FB - what's going on there?) and they made a bunch of homemade beer, which was good.

Yesterday we did some holiday shopping. I wish there was more weekend though! I can't believe Christmas is in less than two weeks.

  • My weekend was great, except I started to feel like crap yesterday. Trying to fight off getting sick, but having two jobs to do at work isn't really helping.

We got a ton of Christmas shopping done on Saturday. Feeling good about that.

  • I definitely have a case of the Mondays as well. We watched Office Space on Friday night (I had never seen it) so I'm saying that in the obnoxious lady's voice.

The weekend was good though! Got a lot done for Christmas - shopping/ordering is mostly finished, I mailed out the cards/gifts I needed to mail, Mr. Bang and I scoped out the toy aisles at Target while the little dude went with his mom to get a Christmas tree, and everything I have left to buy is decided on, just not procured.

I'm feeling pretty tapped out financially though, which just makes me sad. There is so much going on this month that we can't do because of budget constraints. I really hope that by this time next year, Mr. Bang is able to draw a salary beyond basic expenses. Right now if we want to do something our options are 1) don't do it or 2) I have to pay, and most of the time that's fine, we just don't go out much or do anything that costs money, but I'm starting to feel worn down being so broke all the time. I know that's totally a petty first world problem, but there it is!

  • Usually Mondays don't bother me... but I REALLY didn't want to get up and go to work today.

Saturday during the day I read and watched Gilmore girls.  That night, we got our tree, went to dinner and saw The Muppets (AWESOME!).

Yesterday I did nothing but read and watch Gilmore girls.

Ohh I still need to make a date with myself and see this. I think I will do that sometime this week!

  • You can all hate me because I am having a FABULOUS day!

Tonight I am teaching basketball yoga - a local high school wants their basketball team to add 30 mins of yoga to their practice 2x a week, so my yoga school said we'd send teachers from the training program, and yours truly is teaching the first class! Yay!

I am finally getting caught up at work and that feels good.

This weekend was soooo nice - we had a movie night at home, got our Christmas tree, went out for drinks/dinner with friends, just hung out. This was the first weekend H and I have had at home sans houseguests since October 14! Of course, we won't have another one til mid-January, but I'm not dwelling on that right now, lol. One thing at a time!

  • My weekend was kind of blah. I'm actually glad to be at work today. I feel a lot more relaxed.

Some of DH's family come down on Saturday-- his brothers helped him with a bunch of projects. I don't feel like I can relax with them around though-- BIL's gf was in the house, and I was trying to clean, but there aren't many deep cleaning jobs that you can do with an audience (like pull everything out of the closet). I love them and I'm very appreciative that they came to help, but I kind of feel like my one day to relax was wasted.

Yesterday morning DH and I got in a screaming match over a misunderstanding about money and our budget. We both apologized and got over it and we both had a crying jag over it (and my DH is not a crier). Then I had to work and had to miss DS's Christmas program. Then we drove an hour to do some power Christmas shopping and have supper with my parents. It was past 10 when we got home, so of course DS was grumpy this morning.

I'm feeling like such a scrooge right now. I'm not looking forward to a single thing about Christmas.
