How was your weekend?

Did everyone have a good one?

Saturday night I went to see the Nutcracker in NYC with my mom, SIL and family friend.  It was an awesome girls' night!

Yesterday I had a relaxing "me" day.  I went for a sunset run on the golf course, took a bath, did some laundry and ironing, rocked out to Pandora country radio, and took a bath.  I also got a nasty email from XH and downloaded that book achase recommended, "Who's Pulling Your Strings" and will start it today!

Re: How was your weekend?

  • I was having a great weekend until last night...Got my hair did Saturday, hung out with my BF, did a lil shopping...I also went to see the Nutcracker!  Then last night I got let go from the bar Ive worked at for 4 years b/c business is down.... sucks b/c I needed the money I was making there...oh well onward and upward right?
  • My weekend was pretty good. Had a lot of "me" time which was really great. Saturday night some friends and I went to one of the small towns around here for a Christmas festival of sorts and had dinner at a really cute little restaurant. Then two of us went looking at more Christmas lights on our way back to her place - she's a learning photog and wanted to play with her new lens. Sunday was pretty great all the way up to last night (family drama). I may actually post about last night later...but I'm still trying to form my thoughts because I really could use some advice.

  • I spent the weekend running errands and doing homework. I took my car in for an oil change and it had to be done at the dealership since a special tool is needed to get the oil filter out. Why is it that when you take your car in for something simple you walk away with a list a mile long of things that need to be replaced?

I went to my holiday party friday night for work. I got a little tipsy but much needed. A co-workers and good friend of mine's husband came up, grabbed my hand and two stepped me around the dance floor. I have never two stepped a day in my life. I also learned there was such a dance called "the wobble". Yeah I so wasn't brave enough to touch that one, just watched from the sidelines.

Sorry to hear about your job loss.  Otherwise, your weekend sounds great.  I love the Nutcracker!

I am not trying to be flameful to you, per se, but I really don't get this...got my hair "did" thing.  I was a 6th Grade English Teacher for many years, and quite honestly, I think this sounds illiterate and just wrong.  You aren't the only person I have seen do this, and it just bugs the sh*t out of me.  Where did this even start?  ::off my soap box now::

I was actually an English teacher as welll so I do know it is very grammatically incorrect lol....it started with a Missy Elliot song years ago...I was just doing it to be goofy lol

Yeah it's from a song, right?  I say it sometimes too, just messing around.

  • I had a good weekend. I had a 2nd date with older man on Friday night. It was great. He is very gentle, nice, easy to talk to and be around. He called Saturday to tell me he had a good time and wanted to go out again.

Saturday was Nutcracker for me also. Girls night out. It was fun to dress up and go out. Lemon Drop Martini's after were fantastic.

Sunday was rest and relaxing with Granddaughter.  Now I need to get my butt in gear for Christmas. Where did the time go?

  • I guess I'm officially coming out of lurkerdom, so I will post too!

Well, my kids dad bailed on taking them this weekend, so that kind of sucked.  My parents were able to watch them for me on Saturday so I could go get some Christmas shopping done and had a lunch date with a potential suitor.  He was really nice and pretty cute, although not my usual type.  He wants to go out again so I probably will, but I'm kinda "meh" about him.

Sunday, I brought my son to see the Muppet movie.  It was really funny!  He couldn't really sit still but he liked it too.  Last night we we went to my parents house and helped decorate their Christmas tree.  I'm loving making new traditions with my kids, just us.

Yeah!  I know you were bummed about your last guy and you splitting.  Details about this one?!?!  How'd you meet?  So happy for you.

I was bummed. Sometimes I still am. But OM and I meet online. He is 59 and I am 45. He seems so much younger. You really can not tell how old anyone is anymore. He has been very much a gentlemen. I think I could like him. We will see.
