Have you ever known someone who was addicted to Dilaudid?
Can you tell me your experience? Was it a relationship? How did it affect you? I think someone I know is addicted after having surgery this past summer....
Re: Have you ever known someone who was addicted to Dilaudid?
I've been in a relationship with someone who was addicted to just about everything other than Dilaudid. Fortunately he had a doctor who wouldn't prescribe anything stronger than vicoden so Dilaudid was not an option.
A family friend is currently addicted to Dilaudid though. He has spoken to his doctor about it and is on a program to get off of it. I think he went cold turkey and then, when he couldn't stand withdrawal, started taking something else prescribed by the doctor to lessen the symptoms. This was a case of him recognizing the addiction before it got out of control though.
Is the person you are speaking of aware that they might have a problem? Perhaps you could speak to family members to try to help them. Painkiller addiction is very difficult. Is this the only addiction the person has?
