Good Morning MN!

Happy (or maybe not?) Monday!

How was your weekend? Do anything fun and exciting?  What are your plans for today? What are you making or having for dinner tonight?

Our weekend was nice. I did some laundry Saturday and then lounged around the rest of the day. Yesterday I baked cookies, went grocery shopping, prepped a crock pot freezer meal and made dinner to take to a friend's house.

I took today off. I'm not feeling very well and so I figured I would stay in bed today. I'm making a creamy chicken broccoli bake for dinner tonight.

Re: Good Morning MN!

  • Saturday I took pictures of my friends' dogs so they could do a Christmas card.  I had all these plans of cute Christmas-y photos but the dogs were out of control so we're lucky we have the 5-10 usable ones I got.  After that Sophia and I went to my aunt's house where her grandkids and my sister's daughter were making Christmas cookies.  Sunday was the battalion holiday party.  As always it was very well done.

Today T is working from home so he can coordinate with the contractor who is working on the repairs for our basement.  I have a feeling it's going to be a giant headache.

  • Good morning!  I'm sorry you're not feeling well.  Bed sounds so cozy warm right now.

I had another trip to the emergency room.  The babies are both okay.  I sit at my desk all day M-F, then by the time I get home I'm too tired to do anything, so I run my errands and tidy my house on Saturday.  Clearly that's not going to work anymore because it causes extreme bleeding, and this weekend, I passed a clot nearly the size of my palm.  How's that for TMI?  I was sure it was the entire contents of my uterus.  I PTd Friday, then walked around the mall for about an hour and a half on Saturday, and it looks like that's just too much for my body.  So much for, "Your body will tell you when to cut back."

I follow up with my OB tomorrow to see if I need some sort of bedrest.  Tongue Tied

  • We had a lazy weekend. Almost finished our Christmas shopping, and are now waiting on payday to be able to ship them all. Other than that we stayed at home, did some housework and watched netflix.

For dinner I'm trying a new recipe for chicken enchilada pasta; largely because I don't have tortillas to make real enchiladas...lol. Thanks for posting this though, I forgot to pull the chicken out of the freezer!

Oh Ojo I'm sorry you ended up in the ER again. I was thinking about you this morning and how you and the babies were doing. Is your sister still living with you? Could you delegate the grocery shopping and heavy cleaning to her?  I hope the OB gives you some good news.

Oh, Ojo, that has to be so scary and frustrating!! I'm sorry. Glad the babies are okay, and I hope whatever your OB recommends its something you can live with, without going crazy for the next few months!!

  • We spent the weekend still trying to adjust to a family of four(baby girl#2 was born December 3rd, on her due date! 8Lbs 8 oz and 21 1/2 inches) We took our first family outing to the mall to pick up a gift but we've been laying low ever since. BOTH of the girls are sick and so is DH. Thankfully one of my friends from MOPS is bringing us dinner, I have no idea what it is, but I'm thankful for it!!

No, she's at school seven hours from here.  She was here for a week at Thanksgiving, and she plans to come back in the end of December, after she earns some money at her job in Chicago on winter break.  My MIL is out of work right now, and given that she's 65, she's having a tough time finding a new job, so she said she can come out for a short time if I need her.  I'm not even supposed to be on my feet long enough to vacuum or mop, and obviously, that's the stuff that has to be done most often with three dogs running around.  I'm searching for a housekeeper to help with that stuff, and fortunately, my morning sickness is so bad that I have no reason to shop for groceries.  This whole thing is a bummer. [ETA: The babies aren't a bummer.  The pile-on of crap is a bummer.]

  • Take good care of yourself, Ojo!

We didn't do much this weekend except some prep for 11yr old SIL's visit this week. We bought her a plane ticket for her Christmas gift and she'll be hanging out with us before we drive up to IL for Christmas. She has two younger brothers and a new baby sister and takes on a lot of responsibilities at home so I'm excited to show her some attention and let her relax!

Today we have a guy coming over to assess our damaged HHGs to complete our claim from the move. I still need to run to Target, Petco, and Hobby Lobby to get a few more  things for Christmas baking and a new toy for the pup! He's already so spoiled!

  • That sucks OJO, I'm glad to hear the babes are okay though.

Is there a grocery store in the area that you can shop online and they'll deliver?

No.  Funny enough, as soon as I got orders to PCS here, I emailed all the grocery chains to ask if they delivered.  It ended up not being much of an issue because in the summer, all of our meat, dairy and produce are delivered by our farmer.  I'm pretty much living on crackers right now, though I did have Papa John's bring me breadsticks last night for some variety. Stick out tongue

No bueno...although if you're feeling that nauseated I say eat whatever you can get to stay in your stomach.

Are you close to any of your co-workers?  Anyone who may be willing to go for you?  Even if you went by yourself and shopped in one of the motorized scooters you'd need help loading and unloading the car so that option is out.

Goodness.  I was on bed rest for two of my pregnancies.  No fun!  Does your unit have an FRG?  Our ladies brought out one meal a week when I was on bedrest.  After the babies were born, they sent two meals a week for three weeks.  They were amazing.  I also had a few ladies who would take my grocery list and money and go pick up groceries for me.

I would definitely look into Merry Maids or what ever.

  • Yikes, Ojo! Hope you do find an awesome housekeeper; do you have a Rumba to help alleviate some of the floor cleaning?

My weekend was fun but super busy. Friday night, I took L with me to my dept. Christmas party at Busch Gardens for ChristmasTown and we ended up not getting home and into bed until 11:30. Saturday, I went to a friend's baby shower and then worked at the Enterprise Christmas party that night from 7p-midnight drawing caricatures. Sunday, L and I went to Wmsbg. for a lunch with some other bumpies that are due in March for a onesie exchange.

I have nothing planned for dinner tonight and am hoping K will be cooking since I'm still pretty fried from the weekend. I have absolutely nothing planned for this upcoming weekend and this makes me very happy. I'll be content to stay home and catch up on my Christmas baking. Need to make another batch of eggnog since the first batch is pretty much gone already.

He'll be back in my third trimester.

I am close to pretty much every paralegal here and I know if I need them to do an errand like that, they'll do it without question.  Even my Lt Col brought me ginger cookies the other day Smile  Seriously, I haven't been buying enough food to even warrant anything close to "carrying groceries."  Bags of goldfish crackers don't weigh that much, LOL.

We've got a few mom-and-pop cleaning services around here that I'm going to interview.  The nearest Merry Maids is four hours away.  They have no clue business is booming over here!

I'm on the Key Spouse's email list, and I'm at the Airman & Family Readiness Center every week for briefings, so I can definitely call on them.

I also have my vet tech on standby for dog walking and I know she'll come over to run around with them in the yard.  I feel guilty for not engaging them.

I have two, actually!  Turns out they're no match for a chow and a German Shedder.  My newer roomba talks when she has issues and she keeps saying, "Clean Roomba's brushes!" She's funny.  I have a little hand-vac with a floor attachment that I use to pick up the tumbleweeds so the floors don't look too gross.

I think I may be too Type-A for pregnancy.  Stick out tongue  It is impossible to plan anything!

Yeah, being Type-A is just an invitation for all plans to be mocked. I feel for your floor situation since I HATE a dirty floor; but for the meantime you may just need to let sleeping dogs lie.  Wink  Hard, I know, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

  • My kid is sick with his second idiopathic fever in a month. The auto shop on base said my car has a hole in the heater core that they won't fix, so I took it to the dealer in town because that's the only other option and they are charging me $740 to fix it. Gah.

    That's about it here.

  • We spent the weekend playing car roulette.  My brother's needed some things so he took my car from wed-mon.  Saturday his parts came so H fixed it (he use to be a mechanic).  Then Sunday we took it in to get alighned and it had to stay overnight because it was going to take to much time. Other than that I cleaned a lot.  Cooked.   Yeh not very exciting at all.

Ojo, I hope everything gets worked out for you with the housekeepers.

  • Tuesday Morning here, lots to do on my list today... but my girl isn't buying that one bit.  If Isit at the computer chair, she gets up and rubs my back- Ill take it! ;-)

I did alot of sewing over the weekend and yesterday.  I am happy people are interested in buying from me, but it gives me little time to work on the house and since we have little space as well, it turns into a huge mess quickly.

    Ojo, I am s o sorry things aren't going well :(

Mango, thank goodness for MOPS! Hope your family gets to feeling better soon!
