Help Me Decide on Stockings
Right now, I have stockings for DH and I that are embroidered with our names. They're pretty simple. DH's is red and mine is green and our names are on the white fur trim.
I can't decide what to do now that we're adding LO. Once you have kids, is it weird to have stockings with your names instead of Mommy and Daddy? I'm sure I'm overthinking this.

I think if you want new ones, though, without your names on them, that's fine as well. However, I wouldn't choose "Mommy" & "Daddy" for mine, simply because I figure my kid(s) will only call us that for a a short time, then it will be just plain old "Mom" & "Dad."

I use the same stocking that my mom handmade me when I was little. I copied the pattern and have since made similar stockings for DH, the cat, and the kids. I just finished embroidering baby girl's name on her stocking last night.
So anyway, our stockings all have our names instead of mom and dad. Sometimes Kodi refers to us by our first names anyway, like sometimes I'm callled Nikki Mommy.

Sort of similar. I got Jim and I PB stockings at the outlet one year (and a matching tree skirt) for a great deal. I never got them embroidered though (perhaps I shall send them to Ulkaydee
Anyway Jim's is green and mine is red. So, when we got Jane's last year, I got the PB one that is green and red and it has her name on it in white. It kind of makes our single colored ones "go"
When DH and I got married, his aunt made us a tree skirt and matching stockings. When N was born, we couldn't find a pattern to match our exisiting stockings so we decided to just find something we liked and get him something different. So last year we ordered his, this year we're replacing ours with matching ones (they'll say Mom and Dad) and then next year we'll get the twins theirs.
We went with personalizationmall.com. They have 5 or 6 different designs that all "go" together and they've had the same ones for years and years so I wasn't afraid of them changing before I could finish the family set.
Our crazy, wonderful life
DH and I both have our stockigns from our childhood. And I plan on making my own stocking for LO next year. My parents used the stockings they grew up with, and my grandmother knitted me and my siblings ours. It never matched, and I love it! I'm hoping DH puts his foot down to keep his stocking. MIL wants his stocking to be at her house Christmas morning and not ours.... IDK - whatever he wants. So may make him one next year too. Maybe I'll try to learn how to knit so they're at least a similar style to mine.
