Vdub started getting congested Friday, and it got worse as the weekend went on. She was a little more cranky last night, but slept fine. This morning she's super stuffy and now is coughing quite a bit. Her temp has been around 99.0*
At what point would you go to the doctor, if at all? I'm guessing it's just a cold, but don't want it to develop into RSV (if that's what can happen?)
Also, would you send a baby to daycare with a cold, but no fever?

Re: Sick baby question
Hope she feels better soon. =(
Thanks Madisen and Martiza! I hate feeling helpless! I don't want to over-react, but then I also don't want to do nothing and have her get really sick, you know?
I just took her in the shower and steamed her for 20 minutes, and used the aspirator. I know she hates it, and I feel bad, but I'm trying to suck out as much as possible, as often as possible!
She's eating fine, and acting semi-normal so I think I'll just call if she gets worse, or gets a higher fever.
My sister said to look up RSV youtube videos, and yeah, as of now it's definitely not RSV.
I'll take her to daycare tomorrow, as long as she not much worse.
I think 99* is generally considered normal, so I would rule out a fever at this point and send to daycare. I've sent DD to school with congestion/cough/runny nose before as long as she didn't have a temperature. If she's showing the signs, someone else there has already been exposed to it or gave it to her.
I agree that the best thing to do right now is keep her hydrated and moisturized with the humidifier, steam, saline.
I've also read that people will put Vick's Vapor Rub on the soles of the feet and then cover in socks, but I'm not sure at what age you can start doing that.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

Hope that she feeling better soon.
I took Mackenzie in for the same thing today. They said in infants it's not considered a fever until it reaches 100.4, so if she is acting okay I'd still send her to daycare.
It could be teething, which is what I thought M's was, but B has ear issues so just to be sure I took her in. She has an war infection
M is on antibiotics for her ear, but prior to that we were using the humidifier and she was sleeping slightly elevated in the rock 'n play sleeper.
I hope Violet feels better soon!
