It was totally a spur of the moment thing. I had looked into DSLRs a year or two ago and was ready to buy the Nikon D5000 but ended up spending the money on something else instead. Yesterday I broke down and got the Nikon D3100. I was tempted to buy an extra lens but decided I'd better play with it and figure out what I really want first (I'm thinking 50mm or 35mm f/1.8). I read the manual and played with the camera a bit yesterday. Whew, there is a lot to learn (which is what kind of intimidated me from the get go) but I am ready to figure this baby out.
What sites do you ladies with DSLRs reference to learn about taking pics and about the use of the camera in general? Did you buy a book?
