I am so annoyed right now
I don't know how much of this is hormones, and how much is justified but I am so so annoyed and frustrated.
Tonight is DH's holiday party for his unit. They are being forced by the Commander to even have one, regardless of how many hours the guys have been working each day. So, ill timed party.
I am the spouses' leader/point of contact between command and the families (aka it's my job to plan this damn thing). So on Friday we had a little meeting about who was bringing what, how much we wanted to spend, etc. It was decided that there would be 3 turkeys and 4 hams, all made by a family. I was "volun-told" to do a 25 lb turkey.
MH just called. His commander was given $450 to spend today on the party. He plans on going to Buffalo Wild Wings and Papa Johns. SERIOUSLY?! Myself and several other wives will be cooking for HOURS today to prepare this traditional holiday meal and now it's pointless. He wants a "fun" atmosphere instead of stuffy.

Can that money be spent on something else? Desserts and booze? What's the point of having someone plan if they're going to take over at the last minute like that?

No booze, it's a family event. And in the memo he wrote, he put for food at x y and z. So, those are the only places it can be spent at.
