A terrible morning.
I had to go in today for a blood pressure check. Last week my BP was high, not because of anything bad but because I was late and all of the freaking streets around Kaiser are closed and/or different every time I go and there wasn't any parking. I was flustered and it caused my BP to go up. I told them I just needed to calm down and my BP would be fine but I was sent to the lab anyway. Everything came back normal.
At today's follow up appt, I left super early, parked and was feeling great until the GIANT dogs in the car next to me started barking and scared the crap out of me. I'm not afraid of dogs but for some reason these two just startled me. Obviously this caused my otherwise relaxed self to have some anxiety.
Fast forward to the pee in the cup routine that is nearly impossible for a 37 week pregnant woman to do and the whole appt fell apart. I have carpal tunnel so bad in my hands that I have almost no feeling in my fingers on my right hand. Because of this I apparently didn't get the lid on tight and ended up dripping it all over myself on my way back to the desk. Awesome and so humiliating. That didn't help my BP at all and when it came time to check it, it was incredibly high which prompted a trip to the lab and me trying to plead my case that I just needed to calm down.
I got the "you're headed for induction" talk this morning which makes everything worse. That is the one thing I'm more terrified of than anything and now I'm super freaked out for the follow up appointments. All of this caused a huge meltdown in my car on the way to work. I'm generally a really calm person - today, not so much.
Really, I spilled pee all over myself this morning, in front of a waiting room of people. What an incredible way to start the day.
Hope your start to the week is better and if nothing else you got a laugh at my expense.

That sucks...can you just get a blood pressure cuff and take your own at home to tell your OB/midwives about so they can get an idea that you're not always that way. My sister had to do that b/c she had higher blood pressure in the office than anywhere else. I think CostCo sells them.
Oh and next time I'd ask a nurse to help with the pee - better that they tighten the cap and spill the pee on themselves than you do.
I hope you're close to having your LO!
Are you united with the CCOKCs?
I no! I agree that probably no one noticed. That is an awful way to start your day and I really hope they can see that you don't need to be induced at all.
PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
