please rec some bars in Seattle

I'm trying to host a cocktail party for about 25 people in Seattle. I need a place that has a full bar and good nibbles, but not a full sit down dinner. Ideally, we'd have a private or semi-private space where everyone can mingle. It can be anywhere in Seattle.

Some places I'm considering:

Local Vine

Tavern Law

Bal Mar

Thanks!

Re: please rec some bars in Seattle

  • Have you considered Purple? They have an upstairs section that can be privatized (sp?). They do have a full bar, but good wine selections for those who don't want/like cocktails. Also, their food is SUPER yummy!

I'm not really a fan of Purple's food. Embarrassed

  • Haha, okay then. Nevermind.

Um... I was going to say ZigZag, but that's just a crowded mess with no private space. How about Seastar? Their food is soooo good and their bar is great.

  • Most of the Neighborhood Grills have private/semi-private areas for events:

I can't remember, but if you didn't like Spur Gastropub, I'm not sure if you'll like Tavern Law much more since they're owned by the same people. Also, Tavern Law has their 'secret' speakeasy upstairs room that may be rent outable (I'm not sure).

Canlis does private cocktail parties without the full sit down meal, as far as I recall.

  • The Capitol Club has a room on the first floor that seats about that many, or you can take over the other half of the first floor. W's law school friends used it for halloween parties and the like, and I've been to b-day parties there, so I think it's not super pricey. The food is mediterranean-ish, and the drinks are pretty good.

I hate to say this, but me neither.  I was super disappointed because I had heard such good things!

This isn't necessarily the type of place you're looking for, but sometime you should try out Bricco, I love that place

  • I love Beveridge Place in West Seattle. You can bring in your own food, pool table, shuffle board , awesome beer list.
