home from Florida

The whole family went to Florida for 10 days. We left on Dec. 1 from NOLA to Miami. The flight was fine, but the taxi drive was hell. Our driver didn't know where he was going after he acted like he did. We were lost for 2 hours. He ruined our whole first day. There was no way we were paying him what the meater said ($120), and he wasn't happy with what we agreed to give him, so the hotel had to call security to get him to leave.

We didn't get to see very much of Miami; only the street where we were staying. Traffic there was insane and everything was very expensive. It was $20+ a person for breakfast or lunch everywhere we went for simple stuff like sandwhiches.

The wedding was nice, but it was very windy that night. The dance floor and bar almost had to be moved inside, by my sister's H insisted that it be outside. Overall, it was a good time and I hope the pictures turn out alright despite the wind.

We stayed the sunday in Miami to wash clothes and catch up before headiing to disney. The best thing about Miami was our hotel room. It was almost as big as our house! They gave us a group rate for the wedding party and we all got suites. We also found a cuban restaurant within walking distance and finally had 'Miami' food on the sunday night which was very good! I don't think i'll ever be going back to Miami. It's not very exciting and it's very expensive.

We rented a car on Sunday from Alamo. They were SUPER easy to deal with. Much better than the Enterprise near us. We drove from Miami to Orlando Monday morning. Once we were on the Florida turnpike it was a boring easy drive, except for when I had to pee and we lost our toll ticket having to pay almost $11 to get off. Most.expensive.pee.ever! It cost us another $11 to get off in Orlando. :( I didn't budget $30 for tolls. I was not happy! Vivi also got carsick about an hour outside of Orlando, but fell asleep soon after and was ok once we got out the car.

We arrived in Disney about noon on Monday. Our hotel room was ready when we got there and I was happy that we were in the Toy Story building. I new the kids would be most excited to stay there. We hit the ground running Monday evening and headed to The Magic Kingdom. We walked straight in at 3:00 just in time for the afternoon parade. The kids were a little confused, but were soon excited. We had a great time even though those were the longest lines of the trip.

during the week we did character breakfastes, Mickey's very Merry Christmas Party, Animal Kingdom, dinner at an African restaurant, Hollywood studios, a Hawiian restaurant, downtown disney, T-rex restaurat (best meal of the trip), the Osborne family dancing christmas lights ad ended with Fantasmic.

The kids were exhusted each night and ready to come home by Friday.

We also rented a stroller from Orlando Stroller Rentals which was a LIFE saver, affordable, easy to use and awesome costumer service.

Almost everything about Disney was perfect. We think we'll go back in about 3 years. I think it'll be even more fun that time around b/c the kids will be able to do more.

I'm glad to be home, but not excited about all this laundry!!!
