Household Poll!!

Been a long time since we've had a poll and I thought of these things randomly:

  1. Do you flip your mattress? If so, how often?
  2. Kitchen sink: sponge or dishcloth or other?
  3. Shower: washcloth, loofah, other?
  4. Shower: Bar soap or body wash?
  5. How often do you change your sheets?
  6. Do you do all your chores in one day or split it up throughout the week?
  7. Who takes care of paying the bills (the actual action, not the money)?
  8. Wood floors or carpet?

Re: Household Poll!!

    1. Do you flip your mattress? If so, how often?  Nope, we have a pillowtop and it's only on one side
    2. Kitchen sink: sponge or dishcloth or other? Sponge
    3. Shower: washcloth, loofah, other? washcloth
    4. Shower: Bar soap or body wash?  Body wash
    5. How often do you change your sheets?  every month, sometimes more depending on how dirty they get.
    6. Do you do all your chores in one day or split it up throughout the week? I try to do it all in one day but some get spread out like laundry.
    7. Who takes care of paying the bills (the actual action, not the money)? DH
    8. Wood floors or carpet?  Wood.  We have no carpets or rugs anywhere in our house.  Once we no longer have my cat we will get some area rugs.  He has a history of peeing on them.

  • 1. We can't flip it b/c of the temperpedic stuff inside, but we rotate every 6 months.

    2. We have one of those dishwand things with the soap in it.

    image

    3. Loofah

    4. Body Wash

    5. Every 2 weeks are sheets and towels.  In the summer I usually go to 1x a week.

    6. I try and do a lot on my Fridays off and Sunday morning DH usually vacuums.

    7. I do all the bill paying.

    8. Wood downstairs, carpet upstairs

    1. Do you flip your mattress? If so, how often? Ours is a no flip, but we do rotate it around every few months.
    2. Kitchen sink: sponge or dishcloth or other? Just one of those green scrubby things.
    3. Shower: washcloth, loofah, other? Loofah
    4. Shower: Bar soap or body wash? Body wash
    5. How often do you change your sheets? not often enough.  I would say once every 2-3 weeks.  I wish we were better about doing it every 2.
    6. Do you do all your chores in one day or split it up throughout the week? Split it up.  Though sometimes I do most in a day if I'm short on time.
    7. Who takes care of paying the bills (the actual action, not the money)? Auto pay on most of them.  Everything else is pretty much DH.  He also organizes our files and stuff.  He is much more efficient with it than I am.
    8. Wood floors or carpet? Wood if possible.  I'll use an area rug if needed.
    1. Do you flip your mattress? If so, how often?  Pillow top, but I'm supposed to rotate it quarterly.  First rotation will be after DH gets into a walking boot.
    2. Kitchen sink: sponge or dishcloth or other? sponge
    3. Shower: washcloth, loofah, other? nothing
    4. Shower: Bar soap or body wash? bar soap for body, facial cleanser for face.
    5. How often do you change your sheets? twice a month. Ish.
    6. Do you do all your chores in one day or split it up throughout the week? dishes every day, everything else when I can, once or twice a week.
    7. Who takes care of paying the bills (the actual action, not the money)? Me.
    8. Wood floors or carpet? wood floors throughout our main house, carpet in our vacation home.
    1. Do you flip your mattress? If so, how often? I was thinking that we should be doing it but forgot that I think it's a pillow top so maybe we should just rotate it. It's almost 2 years old so we should probably rotate it!
    2. Kitchen sink: sponge or dishcloth or other? Sponge, Nick hates it.
    3. Shower: washcloth, loofah, other? Washcloth.
    4. Shower: Bar soap or body wash? Body Wash.
    5. How often do you change your sheets? Once a month usually. Unless there's a need to change sooner. I realize it should be more frequent it's just a pain!
    6. Do you do all your chores in one day or split it up throughout the week? Usually one day or split up between off friday/Saturday and Sunday. I never do much chores during the week.
    7. Who takes care of paying the bills (the actual action, not the money)? Me. I write 3 checks or auto pay online the others. Nick sets up the mortgage payment online though.
    8. Wood floors or carpet? Wood (laminate) downstairs and carpet upstairs.

See, this is where this question came from - Nick uses nothing too and I think that's weird. It's more weird for him b/c he uses the body wash, not a bar but I still think you need something to exfoliate!

And I should have noted that my kitchen gets cleaned every night (dishes done, counters wiped down, stovetop cleaned if necessary).

Jessica, what is this organic scrubbie thing? Nick really hates that I use a sponge for the dishes. I use clorox wipes for the counters

And I forgot about C's sheets - I do those every week or every other week depending on his drool amount :).

  • I got it at crate and barrel a few years ago, and it came in pack of 3(they were made of peach pits and corn cobs.) Well I just got out the last one and went to order more and I can't find them website. I don't even know what they are called. They actually look like  big ball of spaghetti.  Most of our dishes go in the washer, I just don't do wine glasses/pots & pans in the dishwasher. OMG! I just found them on another website!

    1. Do you flip your mattress? If so, how often? Uhm, No. But I guess we may have when we moved. We have a 4" thick memory foam mattress topper and a down mattress topper, so I don't think we use much to the springs in our mattress. PLus flipping it is such a hassle, and I'm a slacker.

    2. Kitchen sink: sponge or dishcloth or other? Uhm, I use my reject bottle cleaner to clean everything, lol.

    3. Shower: washcloth, loofah, other? I use a ball loofah thingie.

    4. Shower: Bar soap or body wash? body wash

    5. How often do you change your sheets? I want to every week, it ends up being every two weeks, unless the baby pees.

    6. Do you do all your chores in one day or split it up throughout the week? I do them as needed.

    7. Who takes care of paying the bills (the actual action, not the money)? Damian, except the car.. I do that.

    8. Wood floors or carpet? I love the look of wood/laminate. But with the older dog, and a future /currently rolly polly baby.. we're sticking with carpet. Plus it's warmer on my tootsies, and more comfortable to sit and play on.
    My overly happy baby girl!

    1. Do you flip your mattress? If so, how often? We have a pillow top, so no flipping for us, but every January I do rotate it.
    2. Kitchen sink: sponge or dishcloth or other? Dish cloth and sponge with a  scrubby side.
    3. Shower: washcloth, loofah, other? Me: washcloth, Drew: loofah/poof
    4. Shower: Bar soap or body wash? Both, just depends on what we have handy. I'm that girl who takes all the toiletries that are provided in hotels so I haven't actually purchased either in a really long time.
    5. How often do you change your sheets? Every other week.
    6. Do you do all your chores in one day or split it up throughout the week? I try to split it up during the week so that the weekends are as free as possible. Our housekeeper started last week- so that's a huge help already.
    7. Who takes care of paying the bills (the actual action, not the money)? Me
    8. Wood floors or carpet? Carpet and vinyl flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms. We'd love to upgrade to something like wood or laminate, but the neighborhood doesn't really support it, and we figure there's a good chance we'll have to replace these after kids anyway.

Awesome, thanks Puggs! Same here - everything goes in the dishwasher except pots and pans, wine glasses and cutting boards (I use them too frequently).
