Normally all TK bitching about the wonkiness is annoying to me, but now even I have to say W.T.F. Get your shiit together, TK. So irritating.
So, yesterday I was reading something on E and a woman came over to ask me a question. She saw TK and got all squealy, "OMG, you're getting married?" To which I responded simply, "No." She just stood there like I was supposed to explain myself. It was a good awkward 5 seconds or so before she finally asked her question and left.

Looks like we might finally be ready to get snow that actually hangs around. About time! I was getting worried about our possibility for a white Christmas.

85% of the Christmas cards I have received so far are from Knotties. The other 15% are from exH's family. I wonder what a psychiatrist would have to say about that.

I'm glad my H gets it. But then, we DID meet online. So he'd be quite the butt to call our relationship legit and not accept you ladies.

My H thought it was weird at first, but now he's met some of them at the GTG and "gets it" more. He thinks the cards and SS are awesome and is happy I have friends, in some form or another.
My mom, on the other hand, still gets on my case about needing to make "real" friends. All I heard last time I saw her was "Sesh, you need to just get out there and make some real friends." I told her I have friends, they just live in the computer. Her response: "Those friends don't count."
Uh, bite me. They do too count. They count more than most people in my "real life."

All of the Christmas cards we've received have been from knotties. Evidently the rest of the people I know haven't sent any. I did have a couple people ask for our new address, so maybe something is coming.
USP delivered a package to our house yesterday from one of my favorite stores. But the package is for the previous owners, so I was REALLY excited, then sad.
After getting my SB SS gift I think my H is nervous that internet "strangers" know enough about me to send a perfect gift. I'm going to NC in February to meet some of the girls from my month board and he's totally cool with that - but someone sending me Chex Mix and wine stuff freaked him out. Go figure.

Yeah, it's raining here, too. I don't mind though. It matches how I'm feeling today anyway. Of all the Christmas cards I've gotten, 2 have been from businesses, 1 from an IRL friend, and the rest are all TK. H teases me about TK but I think he's cook with me having swaps & such.
Yep. About 15 or so of us are meeting in Asheville for a weekend.
H gets it, but we met online and have a lot of mutual friends from WoW. He knows how Internet subcultures and forum communities work. He even helped me shop for my SS person! I think he had as much fun with it as I did.
My DH thinks knotting is stupid and even more stupid now that we are married. However, when my SS gift arrived he was SOOO jealous.

FI teases me about "knotting". He thinks it sounds dirty that I talk to "knotties". But he is jealous that I've gotten SS and Food Swap items. AND whenever we have a wedding issue, he tells me to go ask all the internet peoples to see what they think. So I guess he's coming around to it?

It will be, but not yet. It takes about 5 to 7 days from when I approved it, so it should be available by next week, and for the Nook by then too.

I know this thread has died down but this is something that has been bugging me.
FH doesn't get the online friend thing at all either. Of the three friends I am inviting to our tiny wedding two I met on WoW and the third is the person who got me hooked on the game in the first place. Even though most of my friends from in game or on a game related forum have either stopped playing or play on different servers than I do we still talk regularly on gmail chat. He doesn't get that I talk to these people way more frequently than friends from college or other aspects of "real life." Furthermore, when I was going through a rough break-up several years ago they are the ones who I turned to and were there for me.
I think he is slowly coming around but it's been a struggle. He has lived in the same area his whole life so of course most of his friends are people he met in person and sees regularly. I have moved around a lot (I went to at least 8 different schools growing up) so having friends at a distance doesn't seem at all strange to me.
I'm way late but this made me laugh.
