What is everyone doing this year for New Year's?
Re: New Year's Eve
We were invited to an Ugly Sweater house party which has now turned into a 'get dressed up and go to a bar' party - so we probably won't be doing that.
Last year we stayed in at my older brother's house and played Kinect games with our nephew since we had a wedding the next day. The year before that we got together with a few of our friends (some of which were my BMs) and we went to the pub where DH and I first met to commemmorate the 'official start of the year of our wedding' - and that was a good time.
Everyone is at different stages in life now though - so many new babies this year, etc. or the few friends that are single and want to go out and mingle. So we don't have official plans as of yet...we usually hang out at home, watch movies or the New Year's stuff on tv, eat lots of yummy appetizers and have champagne at midnight - nothing exciting, but we have fun. We have talked about going skating or slidding, but that will depend on how I am post-surgery (I should be good by then, though).
Maybe some of your plans will inspire us to do something exciting!!
We're hosting a mascarade bash at our house this year. Everyone is going to wear normal clothes tho, not costumes. It's basically a "wear something semi-dressy and a cool mask party" but that sounded stupid on the evite haha.
Very excited, as I can't get enough of throwing parties and dinners! If I got to do it once a month I'd be thrilled :-)
I generally don't enjoy NYE. I don't drink, and get easily annoyed at drunk people, so I tend to stay home and hit the hay while others go out and par-tay.
However, this year, I will be on some kind of NYE cruise in San Fran with DH, my Mother and three friends. Hope it's good.....! I bought some think heeled shoes so I don't trip and fall over board.
That's right you'll be in town! Come to my party instead! I promise to serve you sparkling cider or water ;-)
