I just got back to my house and we had a TERRIFIC time! We were literally at the top of the mountain and the views were spectacular!
D started a fire, we opened a bottle of wine, then exchanged gifts. He really loved what I bought, especially the personalized Iphone case with his company logo, he was very touched. He bought me a Coach watch, perfume and a beautiful wine rack that reminded me of one I left behind when I moved out of exH's house. It actually brought tears to my eyes.
I told him I loved him and he said that he's definitely falling for me and can't remember being this happy. We talked a ton over the weekend and I understand so much better now what he went through with his marriage and divorce. I know he loves me and I'm fine with being patient until he's ready to tell me. He did tell me that he wants to spend the next 50 years with me and that I'm everything he's asked for. Yeah!
I think we were both so pleasantly surprised with how well we talk... we literally sat around and talked for 4-5 hours at a time before moving onto "other things"
There are just so many wonderful memories I have from this weekend, and he's already asking when we can next do it ![]()

Exactly! We actually talked a lot about that... I have a much better understanding now of how he deals with her and why, and he's continued to be open book to answering any and all questions I have about their dynamic so I can make sure it's not a red flag. So far so good... I did tell him that it's a good thing he has so much good to outbalance the "bad" and he laughed.
He's hoping her boyfriend proposes and she can focus on that rather than trying to control him.
