Has anyone run the Baltimore Marathon?
Today is the first day to register for the Baltimore Marathon or half. I'm doing my first half in DC this March, and have many people encouraging me to take the next step and do the full in Baltimore in October.
My concern is that I'm hearing from a few people that it is incredibly hilly and difficult. The elevation change from Mile 12 to 22 is 225 feet!
I am starting to wonder if I should choose a flatter course for my first full. I don't want to be discouraged and never run again! lol
Re: Has anyone run the Baltimore Marathon?
This is how I was, it was my first race. I enjoyed it but after doing other races it's just an "ok" one. I love Baltimore more in the half distance whereas Disney I love more as a full. The crowd support is awesome for most of it but at the long, tough straightaways you're on your own
The hills aren't that bad, there's a stretch of steep and long hills but otherwise it's not too scary.
I had done the Bmore half and I ran my first full this year. I chose the Shamrock marathon in VA Beach for my marathon. I just wanted a flat course that was pretty well supported and has a fun atmoshphere and I didn't think that Baltimore was that. I definitely rec the Shamrock marathon!
I am thinking about running marine corps this year but I know it isn't always easy to get in and I can't run the race in March that automatically gets you in.
MCM sells out and quick. In past years it sells out in a matter of days, but if you remember to register on the first day then you'll get in. Registration begins this year on March 7th and I've already got it on my calendar!
Same. I have the reminder on my calendar. I read it filled up in 30 hours last time, so I'm prepared.
