Need ideas where I should take our OOT nieces.
DH's brother, wife and 4 girls (ages 8-14) are going to be here the 18th through the 22nd. I need ideas on what we can do with them! Things I have thought of so far:
-Day in Colorado Springs (Cog railroad, drive through garden of the gods, possible North Pole visit?)
-Hammond's Candy tour downtown
-Go to the Dinosaur exhibit at the museum
-The North Pole train on the Georgetown Loop
-Zoo lights, or the Botanic Garden lights or something similar
Anything else you can think of? I know they did the Denver Mint tour when they were here 5 years ago.
Re: Need ideas where I should take our OOT nieces.
Belmar make still have skating outside.
Butterfly Pavillion
The lights at Chatfield Botanic Gardens are really great
Jumpstreet to get some energy out?
How about tubing up in Keystone? I can't remember the cost, but it is so much fun! You can get some hot chocolate and walk around the "town", too.
Ice skating sounds fun. We are going Thursday evening.
PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
I volunteer at the Byers-Evans house giving tours, which is a historic house museum next door to the Art Museum. They are all old enough that they would stay interested during the tour, and we have lots of fun historic artifacts to show the kids.
The art museum might also have a fun exhibit for kids too, but I'm not sure.
Remember the 14 year old is likely to cop an atitude with some of the "younger" kid ideas, so be prepared for that, but I think your list is fun. Down-time isn't a bad thing either.
my read shelf:
We did Chatfield Lights- they were good.
I think the ice skating idea at Evergreen Lake is a great idea. You could do lunch or dinner in Evergreen before or afterwards.
If the weather is nice- hiking around Red Rocks. Fun for everyone.
