So, my team is part of a reorganization meaning we are part of a new larger team with a new VP based in our main office in CA. She is in town this week for meetings and scheduled a mandatory all-team meeting Friday AM at 8:30. I worked it out with DH that he'll do the Jane drop and go in late so I can go in early. Fine. Done. I had a week's notice and I made it work.
Tonight, as in 30 mins ago (as in well after the work day) I get an email that we have a "Team Breakfast" tomorrow at 8AM. Just my small team and the new VP to get to meet her and talk. There is literally no way I can make it. My commute is an hour and I can't drop Jane until 7:30....you do the math. DH can't do it tomorrow. So I get to be "that Mom" and decline the meeting.
Worst thing? My new VP is also a Mom.....but she's traveling for work and probably has a live-in help besides. BLAH! I hate things scheduled before or after the normal work day. It's not fair.
