Ticket fiasco

I posted a few weeks ago about getting a pretty good deal on Bruins tickets for DH for Christmas. Well, over the last few days, I started to panic that the tickets weren't legit because I bought them from stubhub which has some serious mixed reviews, and because they weren't hard tickets, they were instant download. So, yesterday, I went back on stubhub (because ticketmaster has nothing) and bought another set of tickets for about $20 more a piece to the same game that were actual hard tickets. I put the first ones I bought up on stubhub and crossed my fingers. Then, today, I got the new tickets I ordered in the mail (so fast!) and the ones I posted sold, so I at least I'll get my money back for those. Hopefully there's no issues with the new ones, but having actual tickets is making me feel a little better, even though I paid more for them.

Re: Ticket fiasco

  • Glad you worked it out... weird that you have heard mixed reviews about StubHub, their customer service is excellent and it's the only company my FIL uses (he attends more events than anyone I know and has never had a problem...)

Did you report the initial tickets to stubhub before reposting?  If they aren't legit, I feel for the people who bought them in the end.

No, I didn't report them because I didn't really have anything that made me believe that they weren't legit. I just started to make myself worried and wanted actual hard tickets rather than the instand download ones.

ETA: Also, if you google "stubhub reviews" or whatever, most of the reviews on several different sites are negative. There are several stories about tickets not being legit, having other people in the seats when the got there, etc. That's not stubhub's fault, it's the sellers that are fraudulent, but it made me freak a little.

  • I have always used Stub Hub and have never had any issues with them.

We always get our tickets from ticketmaster/the box office for all of the games we go to, but the one time we used stubhub for Red Sox tickets, it was fine (other than the fact that we paid WAY over face value unknowingly, but that was our fault). I just decided that since PDFs are way more easily reproducible, I was more comfortable with actual tickets. I mean, I sold the first tickets I bought, but I still have the PDF saved on my computer and could try to use them if I wanted to. That's the part that worried me, I guess.

  • We use StubHub to sell tickets and it has worked well for us.  We've sold both hard tickets and the instant download type and haven't had any problems.  Stubhub verifies that it is a valid barcode before they post to the site and with hard tickets you have to FedEx them to Stubhub.

They can't verify that there aren't multiple copies of the tickets out there when it's a pdf, though. Even if it's a valid barcode, there could be three people out there with he same print-out. That was what became my worry.

Regardless of people's good and bad experiences, I feel so much better having actual tickets and DH prefers them too (to save and frame), so I'm happy I sold the others and bought these.
