Does your family have a standard Christmas "menu" or is it different every year?
Our is always different. Some years we have pizza, some years we have ham and turkey, some years we have chicken tacos. It just depends.
This year is our first year to host, so it's been kind of nerve wracking trying to think of what sounds good that everyone will enjoy.
Keith wants to smoke a turkey and I think we are also going to have pork butt. I think for sides I will make mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and some veggies. And dinner rolls, of course.
Missing our little turkey.

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermChristmas eve is always with my moms side of the family and we do the 7 fish ordeal. And by "we" I mean everyone else. I just eat the pasta...maybe some shrimp.
Christmas day we always have filet minion wrapped in bacon with re-baked potatoes. It's frikkin delicious.
My family always has ham on Christmas Eve and prime rib on Christmas Day, but the last two years my sister has added fried turkey to the Christmas menu too.
DH's family had what they call chop suey on Christmas day. IMO, it's just beef stew with soy sauce added. It's good, but I think over the years it has evolved away from being chop suey.
Going a bit further, DH's family always has a gathering on New Years Day with spaghetti and HUGE (delicious) homemade meatballs.
What is the 7 fish ordeal?
That sounds good! My mom always makes pork chops and black eyed peas for New Year's. Keith's family has all kinds of other stuff. They do salt pork, black eyed peas, weiners and saurkraut (sp?) yuck!
Missing our little turkey.
