A few (more) gift help ?'s

Should we buy G's speech therapist something? She is at our house 4 times a month until feb. We have never had anyone like this before so we are unsure if this is proper or not? If so any ideas? I don't know a whole lot about her.

Also We have DH's uncle who is really hard to buy for. All I know is he likes golfing, food, and is a rocket scientist. I have no clue what to get him.

TIA

Re: A few (more) gift help ?'s

  • I probably would by the therapist something.  I would put put her on my list of folks getting a Christmas card, gift card to somewhere, and homemade baked goods if it was me this year.

I have no idea what to buy for a rocket scientist.

  • There's a golf Living Social today that I think would make a good gift. DH is a big golf guy, and he's also asked for the Colorado Avid Golfer Pass - it gets you a ton of really good discounts at courses all over.

I have no idea on the therapist, sorry!

  • Technically we (therapists, health care providers) aren't legally able to accept gifts, however some companies have exceptions if it's under $X. I would say you'd be safe with homemade treats, candy or a gift or gift card for $10 or less.
  • I usually get something small, like home made treats or a very small gift card, mug, or other little goodies from maybe a 1/4 of my families. I would never expect it, but it is nice if you feel moved. I wouldn't stress about it.

  • I'd get the therapist a gift card and some homemade goodies.

As for your uncle - I would do a gift card to Golfsmith or Golf Galaxy.  My DH is a huge golfer and that is his preference because then he can go get the golf balls he wants or put it towards a new club, etc.

  • We did a handmade card and a $10 or $15 Starbucks GC for A's speech therapist last year.
