Lunch and a Question.
Lunch
I'm sitting here eating a "sandwich" combination of peperoni, saltines, mozzarella and BBQ chips piled up. I don't know why, but it's so good.
Question.
Why do you celebrate your holiday (Christmas, Hannukuh, Kwanzaa)? Is is because that's what you family does or do you follow the religious path that leads you to your holiday
To be honest, I only celebrate Christmas and Easter because that's what my family does. I celebrate the holiday as a holiday, not for any other reason. I am not religious in any way.

I celebrate certain aspects of Christmas because of my christian upbringing and my faith. I suppose that means it has a bit to do with the way my family does it and how I was raised, but more to do with the beliefs I've acquired as an adult.
I say aspects because I also celebrate the season in general as a time joy, thankfulness, blessings, etc. and those things are obviously not exclusive to my personal religious beliefs.
ETA: Oh and if we are talking about lunch, I had a nasty lean cuisine and some awesome yogurt.
I think it's a little of both for me. I do it because my parents do but I also want to carry on the traditions for my own kids.

Lunch was a boring PB&J with chips, and a candy cane as dessert.
I don't celebrate the religious aspect of the holiday, just the day itself spent with loved ones. I love the colors and sounds and sights of Christmas. They make me happy and content in a way that I can't really explain. I even love the religious songs, even though I don't believe in them. I guess I celebrate because of the memories I have of them as a child, and enjoy reliving those times each year with the people who mean the most to me.
I don't celebrate Easter, but I probably would if I had a kid since it would be fun to color eggs and hide them. But that's all I'd do. I don't really celebrate halloween either.

I don't celebrate Easter.
I celebrate Christmas (sorry, Christlessmas!) as a family tradition. It has no religious significance for me.
I celebrate Christmas and Easter because I grew up with them and because they are an integral part of my faith. I don't really do anything for Halloween, but that's more out of laziness than being "against" it. We handed out candy this year, but didn't dress up or anything.
No lunch yet for me. My throat hurts too much to really eat right now - I may try some soup in a bit.

I celebrate Christmas/Easter because of my upbringing and my faith. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I go all out for it. Costumes, decor, big shindig at my house. I don't know why. I just love that holiday.
A bad version of the flu maybe? I'd say it was strep throat, but my head and back and joints all ache too. There's been a pretty nasty virus working its way through my town. :P

Me too. I really dislike having to miss work and leaving my doctor without an assistant. And work has been slow for DH lately too, so I feel bad about not working more hours while he's getting less.

I despise missing work. When I left my last job, I got paid for all the vacation time I didn't use, almost two whole weeks.

I'm having Kashi Pesto Pasta Primavera and some Munchies (YUM! got them from my SS at work).
I celebrate Hanukkah, because I was raised Jewish, and that's what my family celebrates. I don't feel too much of a connection with Hanukkah, other than family memories. I do, however, feel a connection to the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippor on a more religious and spriritual level.
We throw a party, but no one gets really trashed. I've been to those types of parties too (where every girl is dressed as a "sexy" version of something) and it's just not my scene. Our is more of a fun get-together, except with cotumes and themed foods. This year we made green monster-finger breadsticks. :-)
I had leftover shrimp pasta. Yum. But there wasn't enough leftover. Bummer.
I'm not religious so I don't celebrate anything for religious reasons. I celebrate Christmas b/c that's what we did growing up. My family isn't religious as a whole so Christmas was always about Santa Claus and Easter was all about the rabbit.
