Once Upon A Time 12/4

Woweeee that was an awesome episode!!!!

I loved the "Lost" tie-in with mr. Widmore and the McCutcheons scotch.

Was glad to see the reveal of what fairy tale character  Catherine is.

When David said he remembered after seeing the windmill, I was surprised that he remembered his non-fairy tale life. I was even more surprised that mr gold seemed pleased (that guy just keeps me guessing).

Re: Once Upon A Time 12/4

  • I was a little confused, though.  In their fairytale lives was the Prince actually married to her or were they just betrothed when he ran into Snow White?  If they're actually married in Storybrook it makes you think that they must have been married in fairytale land.  And then it makes you wonder what happened between then and when he and Snow White were married.

  • Great episode! Something tells me old Rumple had something to do with him remembering his old life...

Whose is going to die next week? My money is on the sheriff!

  • I'm pretty sure that Rumple had something to do with David remembering. Regina gave David those bad directions which led him to the pawn shop. So I suspect that Regina had something to do with it too.

No doubt. They don't WANT anybody to remember their Fairy Tale lives. The whole purpose of making him remember was to prevent him from going off with Snow White/Mary Margaret

  • I'm confused. What character is Catherine?

I was so sad for Mary Margaret at the end.

She is King Midas's daughter. Before she was just the snobby princess. I think her name was Abigail.

  • When Prince Charming's brother died, he said, "Goodbye Arthur". When Prince Charming meets Snow White he tells her his name is James. I honestly just thought about this, but isn't that a little odd? If Jame was supposed to be Arthur, shouldn't he have gone by Arthur?

My heart nearly stopped when Arthur was stabbed. I pretty much screamed "OMG WTF". I thought maybe he wasn't really dead or maybe he would be resurrected or maybe Rumple would turn one of the other soldiers into Arthur.

It was pretty badass when he slayed the dragon.

Got it. I missed that other King's name.

  • This was a really good episode. I feel so bad for Mary Margaret but I guess it makes sense not to put them together this early on. Can't wait til next weeks episode. I was hoping the Sheriff was The Huntsman.
  • Okay I feel silly thinking this but when David/James  looked at the windmill it seemed like it hypnotized him. I totally think that mayor sent him the wrong way so he'd go into Rumpelstiltskin's shop.   When he met Snow White in fairytale land he and he and Abigail were just getting engaged. He was going to give her his mother's ring. In Storybrooke Mary Margret is wearing the ring.

In a previous episode, it shows how Snow White met Prince James, Snow ambushed the carriage and steals the bag with the engagement ring in it. Last night's episode ended with Prince James and King Midas' daughter in the carriage right before Snow Ambushed it. So they were engaged, but I don't think they were actually married because he did actually marry Snow White in fairytale land which is why Snow has the ring in Storybrooke.

I'm kind of wondering if this situation has something to do with why the Queen hates Snow White so much. The two kingdoms were trying to avoid war which is why Prince James had to marry King Midas' daughter, but he ends up marrying Snow. so maybe King Midas was killed and they took over his kingdom, and The Queen was his wife? In other episodes the Queen talked about how Snow took away something she loved dearly. I guess I'll have to keep tuning in to find out!

ETA: I liked the Lost tie-in too. Did you notice last week Henry had Apollo candy bars like they had on Lost?

Thanks for the clarification.  I think it was something that King Midas or the other king said that had me thinking that they must be already married.  Didn't they intimate that they were on their way to the palace?  I guess I was thinking that they were going "home" and so to me, that meant they had to be married already.  I obviously read into something that wasn't there!

Catherine is certainly nicer in Storybrook than she is as her alter ego in fairytale land.

In the 'how they met' episode, James has one of Snow's wanted posters, so whatever happened with the queen happened before the engagement.  I really want to know what Snow did that upset the queen so badly!

  • I'm really loving this show but DH is hell bent on ruining it for me, lol. His whole problem this week was: if James was John Doe in Storybrook & married to Catherine WHY didn't she go looking for him at the hospital sooner if she's in Storybrook too? If your husband goes missing, wouldn't you go call the local hospital? Or call the sheriff? It seems like everyone in town knows each other, he really shouldn't have been John Doe very long.

I agree with him but I don't want to overanalyze anything and just enjoy it! I might start watching alone, lol.

I thought the whole point (or insinuation) was that the Queen aka Mayor called in a favor or did some magic and had the other woman come in and claim she's his wife, when really she wasn't (because he was in a coma).
